General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: How's Celebration City Doing?
« on: July 03, 2008, 12:29:55 AM »
For some reason they have a lot more "European" workers working at Celebration City then the other two parks.  With some, I think it is a cultural barrier that causes them to be so "disconnected" that they appear to not care... and then others just do not get "it".

Whatever.

Celebration City is doing all right attendance-wise.  The new Roaring Falls has helped some with the overall attendance lag that all Branson parks have been feeling this year due to the gas-woes.  The thing that CC has going for it is the fact that it is cheaper to go to then SDC, so some of the more "tight pocket book" families are opting to go there instead of SDC.  The bad part about that is, you are seeing a lot more "Six Flags St. Louis style crowds" -- which include those who have to be SEEN by everyone and will make a scene to be SEEN, if you know what I mean without spelling it out completely.

That's what they go for at other parks.

Usually it is a montage of you riding the ride juxtaposed with b-roll of the ride.
I've never bought one, but I know some people that have, and that was the case

It's the Splash Battle.  Don't get your hopes up for anything other than that in that area.

Going down this weekend, will have photos of the area when I get back.
Ciao

You keep saying "right in the middle of the city" but this is nowhere near Midtown which IS the middle of the city.  The Landing is on the outskirts of town and in an area where there is already water -- the lake -- so it's not like it's going to be that big of a deal.

A brand new show in which the lumberjacks get in on the action.  They dance on the "root beer barrels", throw axes, climb to the second level, and do other lumberjack stunts.

This would be an excellent way to "re-imagine" the lake behind the Lumbercamp Restaurant.
They could have a Lumber Jack Show - with climbing poles, pole spinning in the lake (where you try to knock the other guy off), chain saw races and what not.  The area would be a great for a show -- and with its proximity to the Lumbercamp Restaurant, it would be sticking with the already established theme of that area.

It's a shame they couldn't use the bobcat after hours - kinda ruins the feel.

They used on on TGS during hours as well.  I know that the Wilson's Farm area is a little more hidden, but... oh and they also used one over at the Powder Keg area during hours as well.

It appears that the 2nd photo is from the train - the balloons are in the middle of the photo and then on the left you can see a portion of climb structure is still standing, but not much.

The first photo's location is baffling me.  I think that it is from near the climb structure, but then where's the carousel?

modifying customer behavior through multi channel marketing programs

Why do a have a picture of HFEC hiring a bunch of Jedi masters that wave their hands and make the general public buy more stuff?

Jedi: "You want to buy that t-shirt"
GP: "I wanna buy this t-shirt"
Jedi: "You want to go eat at the Reunion Hall Buffet"
GP: "I want to eat at the buffet"

.... yeah it's probably just me.  :(

Anyways - updates on the project? Please tell me something has been poured. Since they started paving the road 3 weeks ago I'm assuming that's going along well too, though it is MODoT...

Hasn't it been raining a lot down there lately?

Why kind of crafts demos could be brought in that we don't already see?

Do we have glass cutting yet?
and we still don't have a wagon/buggy maker like Dollywood does

I guess it is all in perspective.  Do you have fun as a family?  If so then it is money well spent and not "expensive"

Honestly, I'm not sure why people don't go ahead and purchase the Season Pass or the 4-day deal.  Both are very reasonably priced compared to the one-day admission.

Yes you have to park at Dollywood, you're not allowed to drive around the park.  ;)

Yes, parking at the park is $8/car -- however it is "included" for "Gold Pass" members.

I would say that there is a bridge to the island fort that the rafts will go under.
