I still say put Brad Thompson in the starter's role.  He's proved himself numerous times

I'm so sorry you were an only child ;)

Really?  That's the best you got?
What's next, relying on "your mom" jokes?

Why is your winning percentage lower than ours and we are tied for first

Um, maybe it's because you've played 5 less games then the Cardinals?
IDK, that seems to be a pretty good reason to me.  ::)

In fact out of all the Central Division teams, the Cubs have played the FEWEST games this year - and the Cardinals have played the most.

if we are an inferior club

Until you get 8 more rings, the cubs will always be an inferior club.
END OF STORY

Fine the Series this year with the Cubs is: Cards 8 Cubs 5
IDK what is so hard to understand about, but there you go.

of those wins, 4 of them were blowouts (>3 points)
not to mention the Cardinals have the only series sweep this year between the two organizations.

I find it interesting that you (themeparkguy) only surface in this thread when the Baby Bears have a little luck go there way.  Ah to be a fickle baby bear fan.  Must be a tad exhausting.  ::)

-----------

Back on topic: I agree that Wellemeyer needs to go.  I find it hard to believe that we do not have someone in the bullpen that could step up into a starter's role.  Lohse is still not 100% and in all honesty we need 2 starters at this time.  Carpenter, Wainwright and Pineiro cannot get it done all by themselves.

Why can't we move Brad Thompson back into the rotation?

^Do you still have Sorry-ano playing for you?  ;D

Cubs played above their ability last year.  When they have to play REAL teams they cannot buy a win -- hence why they'e had such a problem with the Cardinals this year.

You have to give the Phillies credit though, they have a very good ball team.
What it comes down to is, the relief was not there today and that is unexcusable.
I still say that it is time for Papa Duncan to leave the organization.

Well, of course, Herschend doesn't have 100% of the final say in Dollywood like they do SDC, right? That might be a factor.

After Dolly's display this year at the media event -- the Herschends have A LOT MORE SAY then they used to.  She was pretty much seen as a "liability" for some of the comments she made.  Pete was not happy to say the least.

Maybe that's why they're not really doing too much with the building this year.

I was just going off the concept art which portrays the building as a queue area.
Notice that the backside of the building is "open" but boarded up.  That's where the loading of the boats will be -- at least that's what I was told the last time I asked.

I'm not saying that you are incorrect, but are you sure that is for the station?
I thought the station was going to utilize the old Carousel Building... but that might just be the queue.  IDK

Nebraska will ALWAYS get the "tradition" vote no matter what and considering they finally made it to a bowl game and won makes the media automatically think that the Huskers are "back" -- thing is, they lost their QB and some key players

kansas went to two bowl games in a row and in the mean time hell froze over.  Like it or not Tiger fans kWHO does have a decent football team.  Do I think they are better than Mizzou -- NOT F**KING WAY.  Hollywood's Senior year is this year, and I fully expect them to fall from grace after this season.

OU lost their entire starting O-line.  Bradford better lace up his dancing shoes otherwise he will be on his ass most of the season -- how fitting for the Heisman winner to fall from grace.

UT still has Colt McCoy, but has a more challenging season this year as they have to go the 'Zou and Stillwater.  They have TECH at home, which will make that game a tad easier for them then last year at Lubbock.

I still say is the team to watch is O-State as they really did not lose anyone,
