We get the shaft so often IRL that I am not about to let it happen in the virtual world too if I can help it.

the "STORM OF EPIC PROPORTIONS" has finally arrived in Kirksville as the snow fall has really ramped itself up within the last hour.

This thread is for the discussing of all weather-related topics with the exclusion of "snow days" - please use the dedicated Teacher "Snow Day" thread for those discussions.

Thanks.  Play Nicely.

I'm going to hi-jack this thread and make it into a general weather thread, if that's all right.

overruled - use the dedicated weather thread

My school (which never calls off for anything) called off already for tomorrow.
That makes #2 for us

We got out at 12:15 today.  So UN-typical to get out early I didn't believe my kids when they told me the news.  Of course the office never called to tell me.  Nah. Let the teachers find it out from the kids  ::)

They updated the prediction maps again... we're looking at around 22" of snow now by Wednesday.  Yeah that's going to suck.

UGH!

They just updated the prediction....

18" with an error if +/- 2" by 6am Wednesday total accum.
Drifts are expected to be upwards of 4' (yes feet).

1/10" of ice by Monday morning commute followed by 8"-14" of snow compounded by 25-35 mph wind. Should be "fun" - would like to get a few days in this week so I can work on the band's courtshow drill for Homecoming.

Maybe not the actual "PTB" but there are people from HFEC/SDC that monitor this and other sites.

If they paint over those murals they WILL hear from me next time I visit.

and the PTB won't care.

These pictures don't look anything like the concept art yet.

I know we're a long way from the finished project but I am not impressed with it so far -- I really don't like how close it is to the Swinging Bridge.  I'm not really sure why this once rather tranquil area was deemed to be "the perfect spot" for this expansion.
