Anyone know why PK is closed? I’ve noticed on the app it’s been down and am at the park today and the sign by the ticket booths say it’s not operating today…
The cable broke/snapped on the launch, and it took them several tries over the course of Sunday/Monday to fix it

Noticed that they were hanging some Christmas lights from the new poles and cables on the Woodland Hike trail. I wonder if the plaza area will be open for an Old Time Christmas and the trail will be like Glacier Ridge at Dollywood.
There were more strands of lights coiled up and not hanging down yet.

*Glacier Ridge photo isn’t mine.
Probably for this. I’d assume they’d announce it soon

2024

Is it a new parking lot? They’ve put down a lot of asphalt  ::)

I wouldn’t be surprised if we see the announcement in late August/early September about the ride and FiTH’s closing. At least I hope they don’t pull a Lost River and take it down without announcing it for final rides.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they start getting track during the fall, too. Like Swooosh said, weather won’t be a problem for installing track and scenery. They seem to be finishing up the roof so they may be waiting for that to be done

Yes, it was TNT. The worker out there measuring the speed via radar gun due to a guest complaint, is what I heard. He got to close to the track. It’s been a gloomy past few days.

There’s been quite a bit of ground work happening the past week or so on the site next to the intersection, on the opposite side of the new water tower. A lot of leveling

There’s barely enough room for a queue let alone a gift shop and why would they take photos on a coaster that will be mainly in the dark.  Seriously?
Because ride photos are easy $$$$$ for the park, and the cameras have a flash on them? How do you think they do photos in moonlight madness? This ride will have photos on it 100%

I wouldn't be surprised if they planted trees along the highway side of the building when construction is done, allowing it to be "hidden" with the dark brown siding. If they are installing windows, that would be interesting. It'd be hard to do the night scenes with natural light coming in.

I can’t see them making this Chugginton event a permanent thing. They may do the model that they’ve been doing with pumpkins, which is gradually make the event bigger each year. Whether it’s more things to do than just the scooters, etc. I can, however, see them making a Chugginton themed area in a park. I don’t think SDC, but maybe Kentucky Kingdom as their first large investment for the place.

The land clearing through the pumpkin hike path is interesting. It could be for pumpkins this year and making it more “whimsical” or could be for Old Time Christmas and use the pumpkin plaza for something Christmas-y

I wonder how much bigger this will end up?

The building will be twice the size of the current FITH (height and square footage)

wowzers. I am very excited for this.

Very intrigued on how they're going to get the track in there if they're building the show-building first

RMC is doing the powered train car for the ride and presumably the track, while most of the props will be done by SDC M&C.

I wouldn't get too excited to see anything happen anytime soon. Brad Thomas himself during employee orientation said that he has no idea what they're going to put there or when. He said that "you can't just buy that equipment off of Amazon." So there should be some hope of heartland's coming back, but not for a while.

When walking to Wildfire from the skillets, if you look to the right you can see some left-over fence they haven't replaced with burn marks on it. Extremely charred and melted plastic from the Christmas lights. It's easy to forget how much we could have lost if the firefighters were even 5 minutes late.

Looks like the Culinary & Craft School will be used as the new Heartland Home Furnishings this season. It will open April 14th.
Flossies Fried Fancies is also returning somewhere in the same general vicinity. The area is just shown as grass on the map now.
Drinking fountains are also marked on the map again along with water bottle filling stations.
It's important to note that there won't be any demonstrations for Heartland's at the Culinary school. It'll just be a shop.

Any updates? I’m dying here!
They've gone "vertical" now, they've started doing concrete walls above the foundation towards the highway on the building.
