I think that it might be a good sign that they are taking the time to throughly plan out the rebuild vs throwing up some stuff quickly.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Additional housing coming near SDC
« on: February 22, 2022, 01:19:34 PM »
It's the old Econo Lodge in Branson West. Not sure how they say that it is less than a mile from SDC when it is closer to 4 miles. I guess that it is technically less than a mile to SDC owned property, just not the park.

The loop around Lake Silver was open part of the 2021 season.

What did this connect too?  I was unable to see the new ride last year but trying to imagine where this would lead.

It connects the exit area of Mystic River Falls and the restrooms in Fireman’s Landing.
It it not actually shown on the map in the app.

Is this the property that Uncle Ike's Post Office sits on?  Land belonging to Shepherd of the Hills family?

No, that land is north of the park on the other side of 76.

Herschend acquired the series back in 2018 and they have had toys from the series in the parks since then.
Our boys have always been big Chuggington fans.

Herschend also owns the Splash and Bubbles series from PBS Kids.

Are you saying there will be a complete loop/pathway around the lake so Fireman's landing isn't a dead end?

The loop around Lake Silver was open part of the 2021 season.

The park posted an update on maintenance being done to American Plunge this off-season.

"The American Plunge is getting a facelift this Winter with sandblasting, new paint, and other structural updates. 🚧"

The Fire in the Hole specific 2022 job listing goes through the end of the season. Not that they couldn’t transfer them to another position later, but on the surface, this looks like it will be open all season.

I am really surprised Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN never places in these, you would think with a park like that, they would be serious competition.

They are only open through October.

Sounds like there will be fireworks on the square this Sunday at 5:00 with the tree lighting. I haven’t seen any other details.

Once you login with your account in the app, you can also add them to the Wallet app and show them from there. It will also let you send the bring a friend passes via email or text for next year. Another big change is that the pass holder doesn't have to be present when bring a friend passes are used.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: 2021 Crowds/Trip Reports
« on: December 13, 2021, 07:58:23 PM »
Yes Branson/SDC was within the watch box/risk zone as it is located right where that red dot is in southern Missouri which indicates a tornado. Yes it was on the very western fringe of the risk zone but Meteorologists have always stressed that these drawn graphics should not be taken as gospel and one cannot assume that nothing will happen outside of them. The bottom line is SDC really got lucky that night.

Yes, they were in the Tornado Watch... I had my counties mixed up when I first looked at it.
In the last outlook update for the day, they were in the very low Marginal risk area. Also, it called out areas to the East of 65. If they had been in the red High Risk area, it could possibly be a different conversation, but the Enhanced and above were well to the East. https://twitter.com/NWSSpringfield/status/1469352399579992066?s=20

On an actual trip report note, we went Sunday around 5:30. It was quite crowded until after the 6:00 parade and then people seemed to clear out. It was cold, but a great evening for riding the train and walking around to look at the lights.
We just got back from a Disney World trip last week and I think that SDC may have more lights than all of the Disney World parks combined. We have done Disney Land in the past and it even had more than the World parks. I know that some decorations didn't return again this year as a cost/budget/money thing.
