Construction/Rumors / 2023-2024 Announcements
« on: October 25, 2022, 07:45:37 AM »
$30 Million in investments. They have announced the return of the furniture factory, fried fancies, new entrance/parking experience, and student housing. The ending of the video has a huge hint toward Fire in the Hole.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: SDC Festivals 2023
« on: October 21, 2022, 09:40:10 AM »
Looks like the opening night of Harvest Festival got pushed up some and it is back to a Saturday instead of a Wednesday. We really liked when opening night was on a Wednesday due to lower crowds, but I totally understand why it is going to a Saturday.

They have added some split rail fencing around some of the giant pumpkins since earlier in the festival. I wonder if the locations plays into some of it. In their old location, it was along a path where people didn't really have a reason to stop and hang around by them. In their new location, people sit to wait on others riding the close rides or to eat snacks from the stand there.

I also noticed above the pumpkin stage the lighted letters only spelled out "pumpkins" like last year instead of "pumpkin nights" which it originally said.

It only said Pumpkin Nights for the first year in 2019.
They then changed it to Pumpkins in the City and it has said Pumpkins since 2020.

Dollywood has released their 2023 season pass details. Their silver passes are blacked out from Thanksgiving through the end of the year. Will be interesting to see what happens with SDC pass levels for 2023.

Work continued on the exterior of the building. The white parts are being painted a tan/brown color.
There was work happening in the building too, but the windows in Fireman's Landing were too dirty to get a good view. It looked like hvac or electrical work happening up high with a book lift.

I've worn my Apple Watch Ultra on everything except Outlaw Run and WildFire and it hasn't gone off.
I typically don't take my phone on rides.

It has said that since 2015 when Fireman’s Landing opened. The FB post is crazy using that as proof to call it confirmed. It’s not truly confirmed until the City makes an announcement, no matter how much is pointing towards it already.

When did Napa become the Official Transportation Partner of Silver Dollar City? It looks like it was added to the website at the beginning of August, but I can't find any press releases or anything about the partnership.

Work continues on the facade of the entrance plaza. The part I can’t quite figure out is the gap between the entrance area facade and the taller facade to the right. Maybe there will be another later added? Didn’t get a picture illustrating this gap.

It also looks like they are preparing to paint the white exterior sections.

Could the lots at the new property possibly be for staging/construction parking to be used during the development of the land and not for park guests? It struck me that they would put big lots right up by the entrance of the new development area. To me, it looked to possibly be shorter term and not permanent parking areas.

It looks like they have reworked the new Christmas show and are advertising it as a new show. It advertises less songs and scenes than the one last year. The name changed slightly to Coming Home For Christmas instead of Home for Christmas.

Since they completely gutted the building of anything to do with the Culinary demonstrations...

I believe I saw a post saying that the demonstration kitchen island is actually behind false walls and wasn’t removed.

Got a photo of this on our last trip.
