Other Parks / Re: Bell's Is Coming Back!

I really hope I don't look like an idiot, but Bell's is in Tulsa, right?
My mom grew up in Tulsa, and she always mentioned a park with a wooden coaster named Zingo.
I've driven by a few times when I was out visiting family, but never gone in.

Oh the Laser would be great. I would just hope that they would paint it. I was kind of disappointed that they didn't paint Roaring Falls, you can see the rust and wear from the parking lot.

You should probably read the thread before making this sort of post.
So it's definitely the splash battle? I feel like this area could be used for so much more!

I noticed the sign said new "ride" instead of "attraction"!
This gives me hope that it won't be the "wet area" purposed in the survey!
What kind of ride does everyone think this will be?
Putting the word family on the sign pretty much says the ride won't be
the Euro-fighter I have been wanting :-\.
And, I don't think it's a woody, (too small a footprint and too in the open).
Possibly a dark ride of some sort?

Hmmm..... Anyone been out to the park recently? If there is anything major planned I think we should be seeing some construction within July. One thing I don't like about the "carnival style" games at SDC is the lack of people playing them. Like when you go into the exposition center and the people who run the games have sad or sarcastic looks on their faces when people walk past the games with out another thought. I REALLY hope they don't use that area for anything of that sort. at this point, the only thing I could see going there and fitting in would be a newer ride for younger kids. But they did say that ACE would have something new for '09. It's very strange to me.

^Oh there's space for a large one, believe me, there's space for anything and more within SDC's land. If, or rather when, they spring for a wooden coaster, I really do hope it'll be a mid-sized type similar to EK though, as that really is the perfect size for a woodie. Anything larger just breaks down into a painful experience for most of the GP after a couple of years.

Imagine if they dug a big pit, or hollowed out a space in a gully, and just crammed a uber-tight woodie into it, like the Boardwalk Bullet... That's my fantasy for the park, but in reality I think we're in for a G-fighter next. The Herschends are just really into recycling what works - not that that's necessarily bad or anything. I'm just glad they customize everything to the individual park.
Woodies can be pretty noisy, I can't imagine one appearing anywhere in midtown, it would have to be out there a ways. As long as it isn't a G-Fighter themed to Huck Finn lol

I don't really want a splash battle area.
We already have Splash Harbor, plus you can get plenty wet on the water toboggan, Lost River, American Plunge, and Geyser Gulch. Do we really need more "wet areas"?
like the idea of expanding on the Mark Twain idea, although if we get a "4-D" theater, let's hope it's not Spongebob 4-D. I have already ridden it at SF over Texas and at Shedd's Aquarium. It's painful! At the end, a rod inside the chair pokes into your back!

I would like to see a Euro-fighter themed to Marvel Cave because it doesn't take up TOO much space, and brings an enjoyable ride. Also, a woodie would be nice, I mean who doesn't love a good woodie? They are very family friendly, but I can't imagine where they would put a large one. Maybe one the size of Evel Knievel.

A woody themed to the terminator? Doesn't that sound more like steel coaster territory?
But swoosh, I'm not the only person who has said Magic mountain has bad attendance.

You really can't make rash judgments about a park's attendance based off of one or even several visits, even during days that are supposed to be crowded. After all, look at SDC this year: the days that people expect to be packed are relatively light, yet other days have been completely swamped.

As far as getting new coasters though, they actually really need to add in another just to make up for the loss of 3 in the past two years. I'm sure some of the GP think the park is crashing.

Not to mention the fact that just a year or two ago, they were talking about selling the park. I don't think "rash judgments" would be a correct statement.

Other Parks / SF Magic Mountain: ANOTHER new coaster?

According to rcdb's new in 2009 page, Six Flags Magic Mountain is getting ANOTHER coaster in 2009!
Apparently it will be a "family coaster". I'm just wondering where they are finding room for another one.
It seems like they are putting all this money into Magic Mountain, but last time I went there
it had one of the worst attendances I have ever seen, and that was Spring Break!

Okay here are 2 ideas I had for a 2009 coaster:

1. A mostly in-doors Euro-fighter themed to getting lost inside Marvel Cave or Marvel Cave being haunted.

2. A LARGE GCI Woody with Milleniam-Flyer Trains themed to adventures in the Ozark Mounatains

This is going to suprise ALOT of people here, but
I think my favorite park is Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom.
I know, it only has like 3 good rides, but the waterpark is GREAT, and it's just a really fun place to be because everyone is always smiling and it's not TOO far a drive.
my second favorite park woulod be Six Flags St. Louis,
and my third would be DollyWood.

Wow this is the first i've heard of a seconfd train depot!
Since walking all the way around the park can get kind of tiring I love that idea!
Also, you know we are going to get a new coaster eventually and I think if they theme it well it will fit in fine.
If you think about it, the Giant Barn Swing doesn't really fit the 1800s theme either.
The barn looks like a regular present day barn.
It looks like some kind of farming town's fair which some guy who owns a farm with a barn is hosting.
-oh yeah and don't get mad at me because I know we are supposed to only say good things about Silver Dollar City "it's the best place in the world how dare you say something like that YOU MUST DIEEEEEEEEEEE"
