So I thought about going over this past weekend but got busy and did not make it, so thought I may try for next weekend. How do the crowds go during this MM event? For example, what days are busy, what times of day are busy? If I do my normal show up at opening and stay till about 3pm will that be before the really big crowds get there for MM? I usually try to avoid the park on really busy days.

Hmm, might have to do to Dollywood sometime. Way back when we rode it they had both lines going and I do not recall the line being that long as we road it over and over again, but that was back in the 80's

When did they remove the WB? Why did they remove it? The first time I was there in the early to mid 80's we rode that thing over and over. I was not back until about 06 or so and it was gone then.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Thunderation

Is it just me or does it seem like Thunderation has been closed down an aweful lot this year? We there a few weeks ago and never rode it because it was broke down several times. I have the app on my phone and sometimes check to see what the ride wait times are when I am curious and have noticed it down a lot on that as well when I have not been there. Just happened to check the app just now and its down again.

Here is another questions for ya. I see some of the mugs will say $1.50 soda refillls and $2.25 specialty refills which I assume are the frozen drinks. I also see some cups every now and then that just say $1.50 refill and nothing else. Are these good for refills on soda and specialty drinks for the same price?

I am trying to decide between going to SDC or Frontier City in OKC this weekend as we have season passes to both. We usually go the OKC on weeks that it appears Branson is going to be crazy crowded as we can usually get in and out of rides with very little wait. I usually look for hotels on travelocity to see what the prices are going for to determine how busy Branson and SDS will be. Some of our usual $50 a night places are going for $80 plus right now, so that tells me it might be best to avoid the area this weekend.

Yes now that you mention it I do recall them changing the inside of the candy store around when we were in there a couple of visits ago.

I really feel special and part of the "in" crowd now that I have a Buzz Saw mug. It is not here yet, will not be here till Tuesday though. I need to find a couple more of them but will settle for some of the $1.50 refills I guess.

I guess they changed that then. I believe they used to charge you the price that was printed on the cup. Oh well.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Refill mugs
June 27, 2016, 08:34:30 PM
Just to confirm they do still refill the grandfathered mugs before 2012 right? Is it the current refill price or the price listed on the mug? I just scored a Buzzsaw mug with $1 refill. I am looking for a couple of other ones. We have bought new mugs the last 3 years and just bought new ones this year as well. I had been meaning to find old mugs to avoid having to buy new ones all the time.

We got to the line 1 hour before the show on Saturday of this past fathers day weekend and it was full. We went back the next day and basically got in line right away at least 2 hours before the show (the wife insisted) and we were 2nd in line to get in the door. The show lasts a little over 30 minutes and to me was not worth the wait but the wife and kid wanted to go

FYI Saturday was busy but not nearly as busy as I figured it would be or have seen it. We were only there a couple of hours but the rides we did ride were able to get on without too much wait. Sunday we got there right after opening and left around 4 and it was not busy. We were able to ride several rides multiple times in a row with no wait. The longest wait was at the water rides as you would expect but even at that we rode the river 2 times. First time waited about 5 minutes, 2nd time was probably about 15 minutes.

We are headed there now will probably get there around noon today and will come back at opening tomorrow. We usually like to get in and out before the crowds get too big.
