Nothing too close to where I live.  I saw on the news this morning that a homeowner had just finished up their rebuilding in Moore from the last episode only to have damage again last night.

Shave- my brother lives on Keystone lake over by "Ugly Johns" and stood on his back deck and watched it all.  Said it was pretty scary looking.

Don't really know what time we'll be there because I'm with a group of 6, but I'll be there on the 18th.

Is "The Pawn Game" still on?  Did anyone ever see that show? I was only able to see a few episodes myself.  Actually, I thought it was more entertaining that "Pawn Stars".

Who remembers when the only shows on the strip were the Presleys, the Baldknobbers and the Foggy River Boys?  While you were in the shows, they had people in the parking lot putting their bumper sticker on your car!  Heck, back then we would travel to Branson without any reservations to a motel!!!  Then came the trip where the entire town was booked and we couldn't find a room.  We ended up staying in a primitive cabin on Indian Point.  From that point on, mom always made sure we had reservations at the Pines Motel.

Junior- I remember the old Wax Museum as well.  Pretty bad by todays standards, but back then we thought it was cool!

SOTH was also very different back then.  Just the ticket office, a gift shop and Aunt Molly's Cupboard the best I can remember.    Old Matt's Cabin and the old barn were the only structures on the west side.  Up the hill from the cabin, under the pines, were the statues of The Shepherd and Little Pete along with Brave.  Riding down the hill to the Old Mill Theater always gave me an eerie feeling as a kid.  Don't know why, maybe just my imagination running wild about the baldknobbers along with the glow from the yellow lights hanging in the trees.  Ah...the good old days. :'(

Bump!

Where is this new Bells located?  I'm in one of those areas where I'm closer to Tulsa, but I have Oklahoma City television channels so I'm out of the loop with what going on in Tulsa.  I've spent many an hour walking around the old Bells at the fairgrounds.  Was the Zingo moved as well?

As was my dream as well.  Last time I was there I stood there and visited with him for quite a while.  He daughter attended Oklahoma State so we would always talk about Oklahoma and the Cowboys.  What a great loss this is to SDC.  Prayers to his family.

Ok, I'll throw my 2 cents in on the sports complex.  As a former coach and parent of a competitive baseball team I can tell you this.....when my team came into a town for a tournament, it is understood by all that the kids will spend as much time as possible resting between games.  Swimming (the giant energy killer) was absolutely forbidden and we stuck to a strict bedtime schedule.  Having a sports complex is NOT going to fix tourism in Branson.  It will provide a small boost due to the fact that most teams will be staying in motels and that teams will lose out and some may have committed to 3 night stay.  BUT, for teams still in the running, those kiddos will be in the motels resting folks.  Competitive teams will have their players resting....not running around on the strip.  They MIGHT plan for an extra day after the tournament has finished, but in this case if it was my team, we would head out to SDC then head home.  For the most part, we always brought our own food, or hit the grocery store so restaurant gains will be minimal as well.
