General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Thunderation Bump

Thunderration has always been a very bumpy ride.  Haven't ridden recently but it's hard to imagine that it's significantly worse.

are you sure they're not referring to what looks like a section of broken track near the entrance to the ride?  it's there for display and effect.

Slightly different perspective for me:
Breakfast--I agree Billy Gail's if it's just my wife and me.  2nd choice would be Bradford Inn (yes, they serve breakfast even if you don't stay there) orrrr driving into Branson and going downtown to Farmhouse, Clockers, or Branson Café.

Lunch--we're usually at Silver Dollar City during that part of the day, so it's a matter of what suits us that day.  I'm a huge fan of their pizzas!

Dinner--we both like the food and service at Tequilas near The Shoppes at Branson Meadows.

The mason jar desserts are pricey, but you get to keep the jar. So its not a total bust. I split a nacho with my mom and it was 13.00 with discount. (I opted to use my 1.50 refill mug) The variety is ok. My group all got something different and were all pleased.

our BG&BBQ visits the last couple of years were later ones to see specific talent (Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder) so we didn't make it into RGHH/House of BBQ.  Full disclosure, Until last year I worked in radio and got to try virtually everything food-wise during the festival (and all the rest) and I'm diabetic, so even a small dessert is a HUGE treat for me.

several of the vendors in the Red Gold Hall will have different deals and some of them are folks with restaurants fairly nearby (seems like there were folks there from Aurora, MO a couple years ago for example).  Good food and not outrageously priced.  And be sure to try the mason jar desserts.  couple of different size options.

LB and I saw The Spinners a couple of years ago in Echo Hollow.  It poured until almost show time.  Not sure what would have happened if it hadn't stopped raining but the show for The Spinners went on as scheduled,

SDC develops new foods for virtually each festival.  Thanks to my previous career in radio, I got to sample almost everything they came up with.  Maybe a better job could be done to make sure guests are aware of the food options, but they're always available.

Lovely bride and I are planning on being there with our 4 1/2-year-old Grandson who is moving with his Mommy and Daddy to Colorado at the end of the month.  Kind of a final celebration for the 3 of us for a while.

Anyone else got their SP's in the mail yet?  My wife is concerned something is wrong because we haven't gotten ours yet.

Yes, we would go again.  I had hoped the Christmas shows would continue but we enjoyed the entertainment.  We especially enjoyed seeing The Cleverlys.  If you like bluegrass and you're looking for an opportunity to laugh, outstanding group!  It was a cooler day so the crowd wasn't huge and, consequently, ride lines were shorter.

Lovely bride and I were there New Year's Eve for a last blast!  Got to the park a little after Noon and grabbed some Walking Tacos (one of our favorites), caught The Cleverly's show, the magic show, and the saloon show and enjoyed all 3. Best of all for me I rode Outlaw Run (twice), Powder Keg, Wildfire, and Time Traveler.  Nothing like riding roller coasters when it's cooler, the wind whistling through (or past) my scalp!
