The screen went out on my laptop and has been in the shop for a few weeks. I finally got it back this morning. It's gonna take forever to catch up on everything, so could someone give me a little bit of an idea of what is going on?

I've missed you guys!!!

Branson Talk / Branson's "B" logo
« on: October 05, 2012, 06:05:35 PM »
I was wondering if I would be allowed to use the Branson logo on scarves to sell (You know the 'B' that lights up on the water tower, looks like a music note?). I don't know if it's trademarked, or what all the rules of that are and I really don't wanna go to jail. Does anybody know anything about this?

Branson Talk / Only In America with Larry the Cable Guy
« on: August 14, 2012, 10:55:17 PM »
I was on Facebook earlier and I saw several stories from Branson locals and some Branson businesses talking about Larry the Cable Guy filming an episode of his show, "Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy".

Has anybody else heard anything about this, like maybe when it will air?

Ozark Marketplace / Maudi Mae
« on: August 09, 2012, 04:45:10 PM »
I have finally opened my business: Maudi Mae :)
It is handmade hair accessories and shoes clips; basic accessories you'd see ladies wear in Apostolic churches.
If I ever get the chance to finish some of my crocheted blankets, they will be for sale.
Scarves will start being sold around the end of October.
There is an eBay store as well as an Etsy store. There is more stuff on the Etsy site due to selling limits on eBay.

Random Talk / Another Injury...
« on: June 11, 2012, 05:22:07 PM »
I dropped my laptop on my foot last night and I still couldn't walk on it for 20 minutes and it was a nice shade of purple so I was in the ER from 11:30pm til 1:00am. Turns out it is just very badly bruised. There could be a small fracture, but they couldn't tell because it was still very swollen. I have a follow up appointment Thursday which means I have to cancel my Springfield/Branson trip with my cousin this week. I had planned on leaving tonight and coming home Friday or Saturday. I think we were going to SDC Thursday, but now unfortunately, I can't :'(

I don't know which hurts more... my foot or having to cancel the SDC trip ???

Random Talk / Class of 2012
« on: May 18, 2012, 11:33:00 PM »
My best friend graduated from high school tonight! I am so proud of him! He graduated with High Honors, was in National Honor Society and has already been accepted into SEMO for a Performing Arts major, minor in Spanish and Psychology. Did anyone else have a graduating senior this year that they are SUPER proud of?

Branson Talk / Secret Places
« on: April 23, 2012, 01:19:07 PM »
Does anyone know of any 'secrets' in or around Branson, like a place to lay out under the stars with a view of the Ozark Hills or a lake and not be bothered by anyone?

It can be on the outskirts of town or in a surrounding town, just not more than an hour away from Branson.

With the Hatfields and McCoys being somewhat popular at SDC, this caught my ear during a commercial break of American Pickers.

Random Talk / 1950s Dress
« on: March 06, 2012, 02:21:02 PM »
For my 19th birthday, I'm taking a few friends to see Memphis at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis. It is set in the 1950s and were are going in theme. I'm looking for a dress that is inspired by the 1950s. I don't want it to look to costume-y and I don't really want to spend more than $40. Does anybody know where I could find a dress?

I've already asked my grandma and she said she would look in the attic (she doesn't get rid of anything), but she said she doubts any of her old clothes would fit me.

P.S. I wear between a size 3 & 6 dress, depending on how it is made.

I'm watching the episode right now where the Duggars go to Springfield for a women's conference, and they go to Branson to watch Amy perform. Did anyone else see this episode?

Random Talk / If anyone knows anything about cats... Help!
« on: February 09, 2012, 07:33:03 AM »
We rescued a cat from a not-so-very nice guy and Mom says as soon as the weather warms up (and stays that way), Angel is being kicked outside. She was raised inside by the bad guy and by us, so I'm afraid she won't be able to survive outside. Angel has never been outside for more than an hour and that was with my dad being right there with her. Then the poor thing was too afraid to get off the porch. Dad would set her in the grass and she would get a really sad look on her face and give a very pathetic cry until her put her back on the porch. I'm trying to convince Mom that Angel should stay in the house, but with no luck so far. My dad agrees with my mom all the time, and my sister is honestly way too busy to interact with Angel at all, so she's not much help either. Angel is very sweet and usually follows the rules, but she has her moment. But who doesn't? There are a ton of stray dogs around our house, also our neighbor never puts their dogs away. Also, our neighbor has turkeys that get into our yard. One of them has already attacked our dog, and she stands about to my knee, so she isn't small and it messed up her leg. Our dog did not provoke the turkey. The stupid thing just ran up and scared our dog, so it was more or less self defense. I would hate to think what the turkeys could do to a cat who has never had to fend for herself.
I'm looking for more reasons to keep Angel inside. Could anyone help?

(She wouldn't sit still for the picture.)

I would like to add: nobody in the house is allergic to cats, so that's not why Angel has to move outside.

Random Talk / Roller Coaster Operator Simulator
« on: January 01, 2012, 10:47:57 PM »
I found a website where you can be the ride operator for different Disney rides. It is very addicting! http://www.themagical.nl/index.php?option=com_puarcade&Itemid=56&fid=3
I think it would be cool to have something like this with SDC rides!
