^Do you know where any of the tunnels are?  The place certainly isn't Disney World, but I could see there being a tunnel under the Main Square.

I hate the smell of smoke too, which is why I'm glad they keep the smokers in small areas. I'd like to see them do away with it completely (no offense to smokers, but you wouldn't like it if I went around setting stink bombs off around you), but that kind of thing can drastically hurt attendance. Smokers have a hard enough time coping with 'being unreasonably forced away from society' as if smoking is a part of their humanity and they have to do it around other people.

Yeah, but as with most things, it'd have to be done completely different than most parks do it. I mean, it would be interesting to see something along the lines of a haunt, but certainly not a gore fest. Maybe if we ever get our own Mystery Mine, that area of the park can get haunted in some manner around Halloween while the rest of the park continues as normal.

^Yes, quite a few enthusiasts have noticed that, which is why everyone is so keen on seeing Mystery Mine do well, and why everyone is sure we'll see a GCII woodie after how well OzCat and Thunderhead did.

It's funny though, DW gets about twice the attendance that SDC does, yet it gets to be the guinea pig. Then again, most people agree that SDC is an all-around better park.

^Once again, not only is it a water ride, but it sounds perfectly like something that would replace the American Plunge. Was this also from 2006? Sounds like we have a strong theme here that will probably show up again this year.

^I think they're trying to bring back some of the roving entertainers, I know that they now have a random show out on the main square a couple of times daily, and I've seen a few of the old stilt walkers around as well. I had never heard of the Rain Maker though, thanks for the info.

I hope it stays that way. From what I've heard, they've been gaining about 200,000 visitors each year since 2005, and that's pretty impressive, but I still remember in 2003-2004 when there were layoffs due to failing attendance.

No. Halloween is an over-rated and much-spoiled tradition that has been pretty much completely corrupted by large candy and horror corporations. SDC is supposed to be a lively and charming town, not a zombie graveyard. Remember, their biggest crowd is old foggies, thrill-seekers make a small fraction of visitors.

Personally, I hate the horror fests at other parks, they're always cheesy and I never see the point.

Yeah, now that I think of it, the main building would have to be messed with a bit to make it look more like an abandoned manor, and the S.S. Tadpole doesn't exactly look like much of a steamboat, but it's still not out of the question, especially the part where the Landing is moved over there.

Really though I want to see a new Tree House, and I mean a real tree house. I kinda hope they'll just re-build the old one where it is, but who knows. It'd be awesome if they did something totally massive like that big tree at Disneyland/world/wherever.

^Meh, the story line needs some work, and it almost sounds like that would replace the mine shoot-out. I don't like how many of these concepts sound like they will replace existing classics, but it's very interesting to note that water rides are prime ground right now.

What if it was incorporated into the new Landing, like an old mansion that Tom and Huck find? Hmmm, someone should e-mail SDC with this  ;).

^Universal, Busch Gardens, some Cedar Fair parks, and even a few SF parks have something like a VIP program. It gets pretty gay sometimes though. Just like with fast-passes, they can start a class warfare within the park, with many people like myself feeling that we shouldn't have to pay to get into the park and then more to enjoy ourselves.

Jesus Copper, that's genius, the thought of moving the Landing had never once crossed my mind, but that would be about the only way that that area can live on at SDC, what with that area being so prime for shopping and other things. I also agree that Geyser Gulch needs to be changed a bit. Some of it looks pretty damn cool, but they still like to pretend that it is in some way a 'tree house', and the colors aren't working either, even in a wacky way.

I too would like to see a B&M hyper, but it'd be a push for SDC. It'll be a long time before it's even a possibility, they probably want their own Mystery Mine and Woodie before then.

1. Great outdoor adventure begins at Adventure Mountain Base Camp- your getaway to four exciting adventure countries. There’s Mountain Country with its cave trails, segway paths and other mountain activities.

Oh, I just saw this - segway paths!? Wow, just wow, cause people really are too fat to even walk around amusement parks.

Hey, that water attraction almost sounds like a variant of a Splash Battle... Hmmm... Oh well, it did sound kind of cool, I just hope it doesn't/wouldn't take the place of Lost River.
