Other Parks / Re: Big Developments at FC

It is, but almost every park does it. PARC, however, does it to an extreme extent, to the point that they could probably be prosecuted.

Other Parks / Six Flags St. Lous To Get A Woodie?
« on: September 11, 2007, 03:41:36 PM »
Screamscape seems to think that SFStL is confirmed for a new GCII woodie in 2008. Naturally, there are no sources, no clues, or any info to give us incite onto why this is so, seeing as they just got a new coaster last year, among other things.

Screamscape does have a few good sources here and there though, so at this point, who knows. I'm hoping for another Renegade, but this time with more filling.

^Let's hope not, seeing as the Dollywood version is almost dead. I'm kinda surprised it hasn't been taken out yet, but then again it is a very expensive addition.

You guys were talking about the concept of the city moving up through the 00's, 10's, 20's, etc.  Well, actually, the concept was for the city to stay exactly 100 years in the past.  Realizing the problem they would have (narrow streets) when the age of the automobile was reached (Model T's, and such), they abandoned that concept and decided to remain in the 1880's.

Now that is quite interesting. I'm glad they're staying where they are though. IMO, the 1880's provides for some of the most colorful theming and character. WWI and II coming to the park would be weird. Thanks for all the tid bits, that's quite a load.

Why did they move the carousel out of the carousel barn?

Dr. Hartio Harris hasn't been around since Wildfire opened as far as I know, has anyone seen him since?

Ah yes, soon after I posted that quite a few people stepped up and answered my question. I should probably change it now.

Well, throughout most of the U.S., Mark Twain's works are required reading in high school, so most kids even now have some idea of who the characters.

Anyway, back on track. Anyone know more about those roving characters? Do they appear very often, or are they sporadic and only on certain days?

^Depends which Seaworld you are talking about.

Anyway, a flume probably won't come to SDC anytime soon as DareDeveil Falls wasn't much of a success at DW.

Anyway though, back on topic.

Anyone hear of any concepts before 2004. If there are this many from just two years, how many others are out there? What was floating around in 2000?

^Yeah, but that would be such a generic ride, and SDC is all about original experiences.

I seem to remember there being some other coaster concept proposed in 2004, I think it was actually a pretty good one, as I remember being torn between the rocket coaster and this one. It may have been another inverted coaster, anyone remember?

I think for any Halloween thrills in the Branson parks, you're going to have to look to CC. This year they will debut their answer to the Halloween festivities at other parks, and it sounds pretty nice, however child-oriented it may be. Free candy, hay rides, and games are all the things that are missing at normal park gorefests, but CC has them in full force.
Maybe in the next few seasons, they expand the festival and add some haunts. I'd really like to see what the Herschends can do with that, I'm sure it would be a lot funner and more interesting than seeing a bunch of fake guts be thrown everywhere.

Dollywood Discussion / Re: Dollywood Annouces New Splash Battle Ride
« on: September 10, 2007, 08:21:52 PM »
^I wouldn't say that. They may have been the first to get a woodie, but look at Wildfire, and look at the detail they go to extravagant ends to keep here whereas at Dollywood things are a little looser. If I'm not mistaken, DW hires a lot more younger folk than SDC, and I really don't think they all have their own personal character role in the park like at SDC.

Announcements / Registration Problems?
« on: September 10, 2007, 04:48:20 PM »
Has anyone been having any problems signing up for the forums? It appears that several people have tried and failed or backed out for some reason. They could just be spam bots though, who knows.

If anyone has any trouble registering, just e-mail me at steve@sdcfans.com and I'll sort it out.

^A submarine ride would be incredibly hard to pull off, as the lake would have to be expanded significantly.

I'm sure we'll eventually see the return of Rube Dugin, but it may be in 10 years.
