Waiting for it to warm up a tad more but then we will hit SDC! Very excited. Needed our SDC fix. Hubby had to work yesterday or we would have been there. Hope to be there by 11.  ☺️👏☺️👏☺️

I have noticed in the last few years the sandwiches changed and they were not that appealing. Did eat there about 2 years ago and the sandwich was sub-par and way too expensive for the food I got. 

Back in the day the sandwiches were amazing and one would feed at least 3 of us.

I miss the old Big Jack's.

Due to several abdominal surgeries my stomach is so small that I cannot eat an entire adult meal, so I get a kids meal. Talk about a value. Now I have a SDC mug and put the kids drink inside of my mug. NO I do not fill the mug. I fill the small cup and pour it over the ice in my mug. Also, any of the skillet meals are a great value if there are 2-3 of us eating on it. Although I have not had it YET I did check the pricing on the wood fire pizza and felt the prices were really quite reasonable for a theme park. Hoping to make it there on our next visit.

Snack best value is the cinnamon bread at the mill. It is something I do not have the patience to make at home. It has plenty of "yummy" factor which means they do not hold back on the ingredients.

As for a beverage I find the fresh squeezed lemonade is a great buy during the hot months and the wassail in the cold months. Both are unusual and yummy - that is what helps make them a bargain in my eyes.

Choice 2: Aviation including balloons (wink wink does that bring anything to mind?)
Choice 3: A Fireworks Factory (Our personal favorite!)

General Silver Dollar City Talk / First trip of the season! Wahooooo

Due to health complications for both myself and my husband (I almost died from a bleeding stomach ulcer in March and my husband had a triple bypass 5 weeks ago today) this is our first trip to our beloved SDC! God is so good and we are so blessed that we are both well enough to visit.

Sadly, no roller coasters for me until the 2014 opening day. A small price that I am gladly willing to pay.

Staying at our favorite hotel HOMESTAY INN. Paige and her staff are fabulous and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Looking forward to a lovely swim this afternoon. Hoping to catch the show at Echo Hollow this evening, health providing.

I'm hoping to be there Sunday.

Although Diana and Tony will be unable to make it Sunday we will be - "we" are her parents Charles and Lana. We'll be there with our son-in-law Daniel, grandson Ethan aka Sonic (as in hedgehog lol) and Daniel's mother and my very good friend Kathy. Looking forward to a fantastic time.

Due to an unforeseen medical emergency I will be unable to ride anything but the Train, the Shoot Out and maybe the Big Swings for the next year. That means no Outlaw Run for me until 2014.  However, that does not diminish the fact that we will be visiting SDC on a very regular basis. Just think of all of the shows I'll be able to take in without having to hurry to try and catch the possibility of a shorter line at Fire In The Hole. lol

Also, will attend many more classes at the Midwest Living Culinary and Craft School. I have taken them in the past. Not only do you get to watch the dishes being made, you get to TASTE each dish. Yummy. Saturday, May 4th - Viva Italia Sunday, May 5th - All about eggs. Wanted to attend the Italian class but won't be able to, so eggs it is!

We met Lee Aaker Saturday. What a pleasant man. He told story after story about John Wayne (Hondo) and Geraldine Page (Hondo). He really loved making that movie and working with those actors. He talked about the dogs that played Rin Tin Tin - there were 3 and they each had their "duty" (actor, stunt, etc.). We really enjoyed our time with him. 

Buck Taylor has a special going on - buy one and get one of equal or lesser value for FREE! Yes, of course we did that. He is so much fun to talk to and so is his lovely wife.
