Rube I love those photos stiched together.
How often is it you cant capture the real scene in the normal diameter of the lens.
I wish you would share more.
These would also make great screen savers. and backgrounds.

The wheelbarrel is a timeless comedic piece.
I wonder why that went away.
Seems like they have dumped a lot of the old humor from the park.

Note the boats position in the old ride.  You can see the start of the whirlpool in the center of the bottom.
Notice the track or channel divider is low there so it looks like you " might" float into the swirl ( to certain death :) ) unlike the larger dividers of today.
I bet there were still diving boards at all the Branson motel pools at this time as well, this is before the lawyers got into the action  and made everything " safe".
The old days....

Having the Dockside theater with its back towards the lake sure is more picturesque isn't it.
They might have been able to cover it that way, looks like there is a lot more seating as well.

In class when the bell rings I will say "Please push down then pull up on the lapbars exit to the left, and remember to take all your items before leaving"
Excellent :)

Silver Dollar City definitely needs more contemporary adult clothing

If they would make a few shirts that didn't look so white trash I would be happy.
I dont usually see anything I feel respectable wearing.  And I am being 100% honest about this.!!

I would love to see 2 trains at all times on each coaster.
For the falling rocks to return on the flooded mine.
More Bluegrass and less Gospel music.
The return of the taste of the country in the fall festival ( where they had Mexican and different regional foods set up with entertainment in the hall)
I would love to see some more money get pumped into FITH.
I would also like to see more original merchandise for sale.
And conservative adult shirts with the axe and log ( Polo style)
Another high caliber show for the oprah house ( getting tired of the same old for the past 4-5 years.)

That's a little start.....

I just ordered the seasons passes for 2011.
I needs me some more SDC  :)

As long as this trip is next year.
You will only need to check to see what the dates the free tickets fall on and what dates you intend to visit.
I think by my math you would save $60.00
Seasons pass is 85.00 with tax and the daily admission runs about $55

Not sure if I had mentioned there are squatters in the park itself now.
If you drive by you will see buses parked together with tarps draped from one to another.
Old campers.
Its sad.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: 2010 Trip Reviews
« on: November 08, 2010, 08:08:11 PM »
I arrived Sunday night at 5:30, all the lots seemed full as well as much of the paid parking.  The cars concerned me for the crowds I would find however I stopped int eh bathroom on the way in and asked the attendant if they were having a good day, he said 7500 at that point.  When I got the to the square they were lighting the tree, no real crowds at all.
It was a great warm night and the rides had no lines. 2 trains were running on Powder Keg ( Nice ! ) there was the inevetable crowd issue for the Dickens show ( They really need to do something about that). I wandered down past the Saloon ( Big crowd) towards the River Battle.  I walked up and thought it was closed, they made no efforts to decorate the ride for the season with the exception of rope lights in the windows of the prop boat. I really couldn't figure it out, no music, no lights, no Santa's elves working around the creek,,,,,,nothing.  There were a cpl adults on the ride looking as if they were unsure why they were there.  I felt for them.....
We walked down around the park and stopped by the train station to see the new fence, the addition in that area will work well, its a quiet spot.  I do forsee there being a spot saving issue for the train but it will brighten up the area. Maybe they will do something with the old taffy shop as well, it used to be such a active area.

It didn't seem as if they had as many Christmas decorations for sale this year, less to choose from.
The Nature store also changed all of there merchandise, it has become a clone to the old buzzsaw falls outpost store near the FITH. Disappointing.
I had a good time but I think it was a little early to get into the spirit.
Beautiful weather.
I also skipped getting the ornament as the line is usually prohibitively long for me to wait.
You would think that this being the renew line for the passes they would move it quickly or staff it better but that wasn't the case.

I couldn't figure it out myself.  I said earlier in the forum maybe it was to up the total rider numbers.  Maybe that's true.  That or possibly just to add another " experience" without any concern to its content.
I don't know.

I just got home from the park and went to the riverblast to check it out.
I don't know why they kept it open.  They put some rope lights around the windows of the boat in the middle of the ride and that's about it.
The only other lights I saw were a few clusters of basketball sized Christmas ornaments on the back embankment that lite up.
No music, nothing.
I was confused as to what they thought they were accomplishing.
Someone said earlier it was a waist of time.
I agree 100%.
