HRC is in a horrible location.  There is a reason why Family Kingdom does so well, it's location.  You go to Myrtle Beach for the beach, not a park close to 10 miles away from it that's over priced.

Technically it's not overpriced, it's not open

I could say Silver Dollar City was a poor location especially considering the road infrastructure of the area just 15 years ago. I don't know a thing about who ran it but I stumbled across it looking into a vacation to Myrtle Beach. Someone will give it a go in a couple of years. I would say Memphis would be a cool place for something themed like that but the City is horrible ran and wouldn't support it from within the city limits . could think of a cool water ride called "when the levee breaks" and a steamboat themed ride calle the "Proud Mary."

The Zippin Pippin was torn down and the city so inept they sold the name and design to a city up in Wisconsin for next to nothing. They should have just kept the rights. It was Elvis' favorite ride and what I cut my teeth on.

Of Course, I can't for the life on me figure out how there's not a House of Blues on Beale.

Stumbled across this looking for other info.

Man what a cool concept and a darn shame it got caught up in the credit crunch in 08. Really wish someone would come along and reopen it with the original idea and ride naming the future ride ideas would be limitless

something along those lines would be interesting,

But i would have to think the movie theatres would be bad, with Imax just down the road, the the other movie complex just another 5 minutes down the road. :-\

Branson Meadows is a joke and poor quality all things considered in todays world, the Imax plays mostly Imax movies while they play first runs on the additional screen they have. Here's what I would envision a few screens of a new cinema complex would be like and this is just me wishing:

and
http://dinein.amctheatres.com/how-it-works/fork-and-screen

The bowling alley would have shorter lanes for kids, not just bumpers in a section designed for them along with an area designed for adults with a couple of bowling suites that are semi priva I envision is something along the lines of what Landry's Corp has done at Kenah Boardwalk and doing at Galveston. Things in winter like a ice rink(something I'd like to see at OTC)

I still think a mixed use, no admission development with amovie theater with stadium seating and lounge area at the top like AMCs KC has, a bowling alley with a large area for kids(kid sized lanes not just bumpers) and some eateries like cold stone and such with a few more rides that are a la carte/wristband would be a way to make the area go.

Branson Talk / Re: 19 Kids and Counting

It's got nothing to do with being a hick or anything else. Some of us locals have seen them manipulate media coverage for a long time and they have carved out a nice little income from it. I remember they once were programmed between the man with two wives show and the little people show. Quite honestly it had freak show feel to that whole note of programming. You didn't want to be at Sam's when the Duggar bus rolled up. Turned the place into a zoo.

Some of us in NWA have had our fill of them over the years. Daddy Duggar was an aspiring politico back before the show and the kids were used as entertainment for rallies during his runs for office and such and the news stations were always called in advance of the show. Daddy Duggar is on the very right in politics even too right for the tastes of mostly Republican NWA. Some of us are even cynical of them and their constant media coverage seeking. Good thing they live across from the landfill, maybe they get discounted dumpster service from WM.

I still remember Huckabee saying the little right of the right group that Duggar ran with as drinking a different kind of Jesus Juice as the rest of state republicans.

I wish Ozark Wildcat would find itself back up and running somehow, some way. Wish it would find itself down to Magic Springs along with another relocated woodie I once rode at Boardwalk and Baseball.

I'm thinking it will be a little more advanced than that. I imagine the half pipe and suck will even have chillers underneath anlong with a skating rink. I don't think they'll have slopes.

I skied plenty in Newton Co. Arkansas last year using Polaris as a ski lift.

Construction/Rumors / Re: SDC's 2013 Project
« on: January 31, 2012, 08:22:41 AM »
I think SDC could do an extreme coaster and get away with it just fine. The difference in SDC and any Six Flags park is location. All SF parks are close to large metro areas which can lead to the teens taking over, but the location of SDC will keep that from happening. Holiday World and Dollywood are great examples of parks that have gone with some aggressive rides and have maintained a family atmosphere.

If it is a RMC coaster (which evidence strongly points that way) I would expect you will see some innovation beyond just the track system. RMC will be wanting to set themselves apart from the other coaster designers and I think will use the SDC coaster to do that.

Jay.

It may not be close to a major metro area but it can benefit from growth that's stilltaking place just to it's southwest. We considered it a nice day trip here in Fayetteville.

I and my children like TNT for the corkscrew and the tunnel if they could add another dark element or two without making it a 'tougher' ride I may chance my tune. If you make it longer how do you compensate for the wait increase. One of the things we like is that its a fast ride and requires very little waiting when we attend the park and over the years we have learned when to avoid the crowd crushes.

Leave it alone, it's a great stepping stone for kids that have to build up to the bigger coasters like powder keg and then wildfire. Some folks get caught up in their experience e and overlook others.

Brandon landing could have benefitted from a stadium seating theater.

That could be part of a CC project. A Dave and Busters and a The Track to end all tracks to go with the Ozcat and the flume ride. Add one of those spinning seat mouse type coasters and bumper cars
