So, after the lift there's an immediately small dip back what looks like the height of the lift into a curve for the drop.

And not mentioned yet is that grand country has live shows that you can also attend at a dicounted price. IF you do shows.... their is a "pet" show in the morning for the kids, a great comedy/music show in the afternoon, and a very good evening show.

Which is great if you are into that, I'm focusing on the quality of rooms and waterpark features. All the other stuff is auxiliary and unimportant. White Water and Grand Country is good if that's what you want. There's just better options not all that much farther away from me in KC in terms of indoor and outdoor waterparks.

You're right, sanddune.  When I called to get reservations at the Great Wolf Lodge in KC, KS, they wanted $269.00 a night, and that only included the water park.  I was able to get a room at the Sheraton Crown Center with 4 tickets to Lego Land for 149.00 on the Sunday of Memorial day weekend.  Frankly, I can't afford Great Wolf Lodge anywhere.

Well heck, they are 329 now with only 4 rooms left. That's supply and demend in action boys and girls.

We booked our room at Great Wolf almost a month ago and it came out to about 160 a night. We sure wouldn't attempt such on a holiday weekend. We chose into between holidays. My kids are not out school yet. Our elementary school operates on a year round schedule and our off weeks or interseasion weeks often fall at times of non peak travel times. We get a week off on two of Disney's most slow periods in spring and fall. That was great and plan to utilize that again.

I wonder if this will include Snowflex technogy. Neat stuff, google Liberty and snowflex.

I'd like to see SDC's numbers or individual park numbers as a company.

Gas prices continue to tumble heading into the summer season

Another way that could help make a redevelopement of CC year round is to make use of Snowflex technology andd develop some tube runs , bunny trails and such along with a seasonal ice rink. They operate SDC rides in Dec, they could easily do that as well. I'm betting the thing in Nashville will utilize this stuff. Google Liberty University Snowflex.

Also Google search for images.

Great Wolf Lodge in KC kicks Grand County's tail as far as indoor water park goes. Rooms too. Loses on mini golf. I love the new area out in KCK now if Worlds of Fun would relocate.

There's that unfinished parking lot at SDC that could accommodate a Waterpark.

Great wolf lodge is also 2 - 2 1/2 times the nightly rate..  So there should be a HUGE difference!

We are staying at Great Wolf next weekend for a little over 150 a night. We are staying Fri and Sat. I can go to Grand Country's website and a similar package is advertised at 298 for two nights. I'm having trouble with your 21/2 times more theory. Kids love Trex as well.

It all depends on where the chain forseas themselves making the most profit. Water parks seem to be coming back in style, judging by all the additions and new parks springing up around the country. WW was almost to a stage where they needed to update it or let it die before they started rebuilding it a couple of years ago. It still doesn't hold a candle to most parks, even those in the region, but that might changbe with a good slide tower and increased theming. A lot of people seem to be flocking to the water parks as cheaper alternatives to the big dry parks.

SDC on the other hand doesn't have as much potential to increase their revenue right now. Even if they spent millions on a big new ride they might see less attendance due to the number of people striking trips to SDC from their budgets. DW is in an area with more stable jobs I guess, or at least a much bigger market.

You know, I just read this and I don't see how there is much more of a stable job market than NWA. In fact things are picking up steam in retail and housing. Existing lot prices actually are ticking up from their bottom and gas is actually cheaper now from when this thread last posted in.

Herchend isn't doing WW right. The newer business  model seems to be that it should be adjacent to SDC or go Schitterbahn like with it eventuallly being a full fledged resort. We, as a family have forsaken WW for Schitterbahn in KC and for a winter retreat Grand Country loses out to Great Wolf Lodge. WW as a tourist draw is getting beat badly. It seems like an antique water park.

They should do this several times a year and start at 8am on the weekends.

Just found this interesting to me info. If the drop of the new coaster is around 160 ft that will be nearly the same amount the new video screen at Razorback Stadium is wide. That will be 167 feet wide in High Def. Now SDC needs to by some promo time on that showing off the new ride in a Extreme Drop(tackle) of the game bit to 75,000 that fits their demographic targets to a tee.

Rocky Mountain has buzz around their name with the Texas Giant and other Reno work. This is their first "from the ground up" soldiers using their tech from the rail to their trains. I expect they will be using this to sell future projects and will be about a 75% represention of what all they can do. They can sell smaller off this represention or go even Wilder off of it and give what most expect from an SDC ride to SDC.

See I find it really unfair that they have this trailblazer pass. I for one even if I had the money would not buy it. It is a waste. And for the select few who can purchase it and cut the line well that sucks waiting in line with the kids and trying to teach them about taking turns and waiting patiently. Then because someone has the cash gets special perks. But who am I but a lowly season pass holder to complain....

Didn't. Need anything of the sort on Sunday, or on most days during the week during the summer. I've learned the secret of when to visit for a ride packed day. Z
