For me, calling Buzzsaw falls a coaster is a bit of a stretch. And I wasn't implying the entire HFEC family, just SDC additions. And to quote Swoosh's original post for this thread...

"If they are going by the "plan" still, the next addition will be a small one where it has been thought that two rides from CC will come over and then after that is the next generation of Mystery Mine." I assume he meant immediately after, as in 2015.

It's all speculative. I just don't buy the idea that SDC would be debuting two major multi-million dollar coasters in a span of just two years. Or even three for that matter. Of course, I would be elated if they did.

Concerning the service area. This is easy. It consists of several small buildings. SDC could build a new facility under one roof across the street. Steel buildings at cheap but they aren't outrageous either. If you keep them and just relocate the parking lot. It could be moved across 76. As with all the bike trails here in Fayetteville, a pedestrian tunnel could be build to not interfere with  traffic one bit. They could even do that for the service area. They could keep it hid in plain sight with a new facility that's just camouflaged by themeing the facade or adding small shops and what not around the periphery

As to the train service area, I think I've mentioned this somewhere else on SDCfans, but how cool and btw fitting with the time period would a round house type area be. Kids love this type of stuff, think Thomas the Train. Have the turntable inside or out. Heck, it could become an attraction. If not make it visible and treat it like a crafts demo like the furniture mill

How it could be an attraction:

olds, i think we are in the agreement that SDC, has NOT taken over this property.. There are waaayyy too many unanswered questions..

Man, the things I've read seem to indicate the Wilderness in the Smokies has been highly successful. Branson is begging for something like that. Welk is no where close to what those have turned into. Splash Country isn't either. With Herchend partnering with Gaylord in Nashville, it could lead to bigger and better lodging directly linked to SDC. That area along 76  would be prime. NWA made another top 10 forbes list recently. I talked to a business guy from Austin and he and others think NWA stands a good chance to become a major business hub over the next twenty years. That's good paying jobs. The University of Arkansas is growing at an exponential rate and has a great program set up to help graduates with start ups. In Fayetteville with university construction and private construction that's catered to the university there's 200 million worth of developement happening right now.

We went in this morning.  We were there soon after opening, but we missed the opening.  We went to the GE first, and had no waits.  Then we took the youngest for her first ever rides on Lost River and FITH.  I think she liked them.  She called Lost River the "pirate cave." We caught the Wallendas, and we really enjoyed it.  Now we are cooling off and resting in the motel before heading back in this evening.  It is hot but manageable.

It's only around a 100 today, it's cool. I'm told by a meteorologist friend that July isn't going to be like last year. You put last year together with this year for Ft. Smith Arkansas and 100 degree days are 50 or more. And to think it got to -21 at my house in Jan of 2011 here in Fayetteville.

If Swoosh is to be believed (he's a Mizzou grad so that's 50/50) Outlaw Run is the cheapest of the three upcoming  projects. The second one involves what I assume is Roaring Falls and the S&S shot tower from Celebration City so there's some else along with that and some major theming. I was thinking that both could be themed the the west like Outlaw Rum fairly easily.

I think I remember Swoosh poo poo'ing inversion and major drop talk early on in the 2013 talk. Something about us message board fan boys and our speculation.

There are times I wish SDC would quit expanding. Its losing its magic the bigger it gets. I still love the place. Its wonderful and I am happy they are staying with the trends too. Its good to see that. But also bittersweet. With every "new" they are losing some "old" as well. Or is that just me......again me thinking is dangerous.....

I get it but don't agree with it. SDC has been changing ever since it's opened, We lament the old that we have lost like the Diving Bell. (which could easily be recreating amazingly with todays tech). It's got to grow to stay relevent or it will wither on the vine.

Roaring Falls is a people eater and is also a "spectator attraction" two things the park loves.

BTW, the restaurant is not Ribhouse

Is the S&S shot tower still there. I've forgot. Tame by today's standards but a missing type of attraction that SDC needs.

The food quality for a full meal has gone down. We rarely eat in the park anymore whith the prices even with the season pass discount. Some of us must be rare in our belief that quality has diminished.

There's so many rides that would be great and themed to SDC with ease. Other than Roaring Falls what else is left at SDC worth bringing over and Roaring Falls is basically covered by American Plunge.

This will be a "conventional" sit down format coaster.
Sorry

Yeah, but if they ever wanted a ride like that, they could do a train with horses and in a back a stagecoach themed car for those that dislike the horse format.

Okay so I was thinking (which is dangerous I know  ;)) but there were concept drawings sometime back with the idea of horses in them. I believe you could sit on the horses and the track was way different, but what if that idea was somehow incorporated into this idea.......

That may have been a zamperla but other companies make similar rides, I've even seen a jet ski version online/ Here's an Intamin

Let's not forget, we're talking about the same lawyers who made the park turn the backwards carts around on TNT

I've never understood this given the amount of rides like boomerangs and such that go forward and backwards. It sounds like a good cover for the real reason. The lines for the reverse seats on Thunderation were always shorter  and oftern empty  and causing pileups on forward facing seat bays on busy days.

3. Yes that's an inversion. It is now tracked. Photos tomorrow on MiG

Bazinga!  ;D

Anything else? After all we haven't seen over half the ride.

^It will be a dead end. They aren't going to add another crossing unless they absolutely have to. Besides, that area between FITH and the Opera House has a lot of back-stage kinda stuff.

^^No, the coaster will open in 2013. Perhaps a few lucky souls involved with the project will get to ride it this year, and maybe they'll have a commercial shoot on it in the fall, but I wouldn't look for any soft-openings this year.

I still think you'll see a loop around to Grand exposition one day.  They'll conceal the train maintinence and relocate everything else. What would be neat is if they rebuilt the maintinance shed for the train as a roundhouse, now that would be old school theming.

Funny thing, I actually saw a caboose on a freight train about a year ago on a track in Eastern Ark. So, I asked my logistics guru Brother and he said on occasion that they are used so that sensitive freight that has high probability of theft attempts (Nike Shoes) can be watched  24/7. He was in charge of the ATT distribution center at the launch of the Iphone. They had folks all over trying to steal shipments in route to the DC in Memphis. Even with gps tracking devices embedded, they lost one container full that was jacked in Mississippi at a truck stop, likely the driver was involved and out of the port of Miami before the FBI got there. Cuban Mafia were the likely culprits.
