I am really not thinking I want to spend that much on it.

Then don't.

Is this correct on Cox Health day? Is it just Saturday? I planned to go Saturday and Sunday for a bit to hear the bands but I've been there accidentally on a Cox Health day before and miserable doesn't even begin to describe it.

Not Cox Health day.  I am employed there and nothing has been mentioned.  In fact there was not a Cox Health day at SDC last year, or this year (I believe).  Now Mercy, not sure about when their's is.

I hope we get more theming than was presented in the video. And while it won't effect me, I do think SDC will face an uphill battle in marketing to people who do not like spinning. I think the controlled spin will definitely help and the animation didn't look out of control to me. It just looks more like a turning motion than spinning. I think everyone should give it a chance before immediately shooting it down.

This looks like a great addition to the park and will offer something completely different from anything they have. I can't wait for 2018 to come to enjoy this amazing new addition. Three inversions, two launches, that first drop! Looks crazy and fun to me!

The animation doesn't show any spinning at all beyond the inversions. It just shows a traditional rider POV.

I think that was just to show the layout of the track from that perspective.  On the long shots from "outside" the train it appears it spins or rotates the whole time, right out of the station.

Nope. This would be new.  Roaring Falls was sold when CC closed and has since been removed.
Huh didn't realize it finally got sold. I thought it was the last thing remaining in the old park. When did it sell?

Granted, I have not paid attention for awhile while passing CC, but the last that I knew, this was still standing.

No Dickens performances due to the large number of folks in the cast who were sick but you didn't learn this until you went to the Opera House and then went to a nearby food stand to get the scoop.
That's really bad business on SDC part.  That's like ordering a #5 at McDonalds and getting back to work with your sack to find no meat in your bun.  You should know that before you pay for the product.  I have found SDC not posting closed rides etc. in the past.  If you are going to omit a main part of your product you have to warn the customer before they give you their money.

Security was very easy and unintrusive on the weekend of the 12th. Did not slow things up one bit. I think there are some people upset that they cannot sneak firearms in now. I prefer the extra level myself.

I felt it was more of a "feel good" security check.

Per Missouri law (Section 571.107.1), it has never been legal to conceal carry in an amusement park, but the "security checks" they are doing now would still not catch anyone that was going to do so.

During the speaker portion Brad put some emphasis on the story behind FL. This area extends the story of Fire-in-the-Hole be creating a training grounds for future firemen and women who will ensure that Baldknobbers can never again burn the town down.

With this, can we at least have a small glimmer of hope that Fire-In-The-Hole will get a makeover/refurb at some point?

Construction/Rumors / Lake Silver

Was at the City this past Sunday.  Noticed that Lake Silver was very low.  Any word on any projects going on around it?

I find it humorous and ironic how some are upset that a layout drawing with the features has been leaked; however the sharing of actual pictures of the ride have been condoned and encouraged since the first shovel of dirt was turned over.

Let's face it, 99% of the general public (including many that have visited the park this summer and saw the construction) knows nothing about this ride and will be amazed/excited/astonished at it's announcement next week.

Take it for what it is worth, but I was told about this project by a SDC employee a little over a month ago.  He made it sound as if this WILL NOT be any small coaster, nor will it be tame and for everyone.  Mentioned the possibilty of a record setting drop angle.

Like I said, take it for what it is worth"

Starting to look like my source was reliable.   ;D

This is the small coaster that was in the NW corner of the park.
