General Silver Dollar City Talk / Current ticket offers

We have season passes, but are bringing an extra family member this trip, the week of Oct 11th. Would a season pass be the best bet if visiting the city 3 days? My BAF's are invalid for this week. Wonder if any ticket deals remain this late in the season?

General Silver Dollar City Talk / 2 SDC Tickets free for the asking

I have 2 remaining "1 Day Admission" tickets that will expire on 9/26/2011.  Just ask and provide mailing address.  Better Hurry!  We were there this past weekend and they were not even asking for id to get in on my season pass.  That may be the only glitch if you have to have the passholder present.  Worth a shot regardless.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Extended dates in December

This may have been covered before, wanted to verify.  When I bought my season passes the season ended December 27th along with my "bring a friend" tickets.

Now I see the dates have been extended to Decemeber 30th.  Wondering if they will honor my "bring a friend tickets" to the 30th?

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Homestead Pickers

You know I don't here much about the Homestead Pickers, but they are the primary reason I go back to the City 3 or 4 times a year.  This will be our 8th year and I try to make at least 3 of their shows each day, it does not matter how many times I have seen and heard the same stuff, it never gets old.  My oldest daughter is 14 and my youngest is 5, the front porch is where we always head to first.  Danny Eakin and the 2 Greg's have always been great to visit with us.  Now as sad as I was to see Ez and Dil go, Dwight has certainly filled the hole well.  You simply cannot replace Ezra Micham. 

Our best memories are of the Christmas visits, when it is too cold to even be there, the pickers will be in the cabin going on with their antics and making anyone that shows up feel like family.

Wondered if anyone else shares my enjoyment of these guy's, especially would like to here your favorite memories of them.

One time in the fall, when Danny was singing Ghost Chickens,  the lady that keeps the kitchen came out of the cabin and whacked this guy over the head with a rubber chicken.  A guy sitting on the bench got so tickled, he absolutely could not stop laughing, I am talking belly laughs so hard he was losing his breath.  Finally, Ezra comes up with a paper sack for this guy to breath into.  No staging here, it was great.
 
Also, want to mention Judy Young and her SDC tales Cd...great stories.
