We have season passes, but are bringing an extra family member this trip, the week of Oct 11th. Would a season pass be the best bet if visiting the city 3 days? My BAF's are invalid for this week. Wonder if any ticket deals remain this late in the season?

Thanks.

Would like to know about the root beer float refills? First I have heard of this with the souvenir mugs.

Thanks.

OK. Thanks one and all.  We have actually been to Branson over Thanksgiving, but always prepare the meal at the condo.  Wanted to try something different this year.

What options are available and the prices? Mill or the Mine? Will be there on 27th and 28th, crowds unbearable?

Thanks.

Know I am prob in the minority, but the Homestead is where we spend most of our time. My girl's always like to hang out with the Picker's and Aunt Judy. They usually have goats, rabbits, hogs, chickens and the miniature pony and donkey.  If you are able to catch Uncle Gene's Christmas story in the cabin, don't miss it.

Is this (11/9-11) a typically crowded weekend for the City?

Was planning on  a 3 day trip, but don't want to fight crowds?

Thanks.

There is one on the square across from the Mine entrance or adjacent to stage.  Believe it to be the good stuff, same lady working it for at least the last 2 years.

Traveled to Branson with my 8 yr old daughter on June 10th, stayed at the Fall's Village Resort, great place to stay, out of the way and quiet.
Wife and older daughter were at a art workshop in OKC, so we snuck off for a few days, gotta do what you gotta do.  Monday morning bright and early, arrived at the City about 8:45, played checkers until the opening ceremony, which is always great to see again. Went to the Homestead to watch the Picker's, then ran over to Thunderation, rode it three times, no lines, then back to the Homestead to see the Picker's, never get tired of those guys.  Heidi played the rooster for the Ghost Chicken song which was great and was given the official prize by Danny for being the rooster; "bubba teeth" which she wore with pride and a really pretty crocheted bible book marker.  Enjoyed the skits, missed visiting with Terry, saw him as the Warden, but never caught up to him. Then off to the races, Thunderation again, FITH 3 times, FM 3 times. Again no lines or next in line, really low crowds.  The rain, rain, rain, came down, down, down, in rushing rising rivulets...Back up the hill to the Mine, I honestly am a little less impressed with the Mine every time I go on recent trips, but still good food. Had to wade water to check out and was kind of cool seeing the water trickling down the walls and dripping from the ceilings.  So by early afternoon, the park was basically deserted, which we have found when people make a dash for the parking lot we stay and wait it out and have the luxury of a very small crowd when the storms clear. One of the Citizens said it was the first total rain-out since June of 2011. The heavy rains only lasted about an hour or so, we then went down to the Grand Exposition and only a couple of the rides had re-opened.  Rode the River Blast a couple of times which was fun for both of us.  We stayed until about 5:30 and headed back to our condo. A very good day at the City.   Spent the next day there as well, but will save that one for later.

Wow! I did not notice fewer decorations, probably because i am so enamored with the whole fall scene. The craft scene was great this year, new stuff to see, perfect weather, etc. For me and my house it is the absolute best time in the Ozarks and SDC in particular.

Homestead Pickers at the cabin and at the pickin shed in the afternoon.  The jam session often features other performers from the park that you would never know about otherwise.  They also open it to anyone that wants to get up and do something, playing, singing, and joke telling.  A good time for sure.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Alcohol on SDC Grounds?

Allowing alcohol would be a deal breaker for me.  Don't use it and don't want to be around it.  As much as I love the City, if alcohol were allowed we would simply stop going.  SDC is a rare jewel, messing with the values it was founded on would be devastating.
