Sorry for reviving the old thread, but even more sorry to report that Gailard Sartain has passed away.

Construction/Rumors / Re: Project 2026 Tracker

Quote from: runner1960 on June 17, 2025, 02:18:49 PMI really do not want to see SDC become a coaster park. So,A giga or Hyper does not interest me at all. Time Traveler was supposed to be a game changer that would bring people from all over the world. And it did but the new wears off so its on to the next thing that is the worlds somethingist. Keep expanding in a controlled way and keep the charm of the park.
The old timers have been saying that for many years. It's a theme park, not the latest greatest biggest tallest fastest coaster park.

Random Talk / Re: Park Road Trip Ideas
June 03, 2025, 09:23:34 PM
Quote from: mg on June 02, 2025, 10:05:31 AMI am looking at doing a quick road trip with my kids (shortest one is about 49") sometime in August. It will be a Thursday - Sunday trip. (We could leave Wednesday afternoon if needed.) Would like to visit 2 different parks.
I'm thinking drive Thursday, park Friday, drive Friday night, park Saturday, and drive home Sunday.
We are in Springfield, MO. We prefer more theme park vs amusement park (SDC, Dollywood, Disneyland, and Animal Kingdom are some of our favorite parks.)

We've done Holiday World, Kentucky Kingdom, and we also do Dollywood every year.

What are your suggestions?

Here's one that's all about the theme. It's local to me, so I try to promote it.

As someone who hates crowds, I would welcome a big discount on off-peak days.

I know that's now how it works in reality. Off peak pays full price, peak pays extra.

Quote from: Okiebenz on May 06, 2025, 07:35:03 PMI have been going to Little Rock for years for work, and all over Ark in general and how I have I never heard of this park before?

If you drive from LR to Hot Springs, you drive right past the park.

Quote from: Pudgy Jones on April 02, 2025, 08:14:08 AMThey are going to get their "Gaslight Square" after all.

It was such a big hit the first time, right?  ::)

Quote from: Duelist on March 26, 2025, 03:08:33 PMI live about 40 miles from Magic Springs and haven't been there since 1981.  It just doesn't appeal to me.  My wife and I were talking about it and we figured most of the time people go there are for the concerts- and those are usually like Steppenwolf's grandsons or some other variation of an oldie band.  :P

I'm originally from about 90 minutes west of Hot Springs. The only time I went to Magic Springs was about 1994, when it was a great place for a 3 year old's first amusement park adventure.

I never understood it as a concert venue. Lake Hamilton Steppin' Wolves band might be behind the Steppenwolf grandsons theme. LOL

Quote from: mg on March 23, 2025, 07:33:39 PMWildfire and Outlaw Run now offer videos along with the ride photo.
The videos are $5 each and are not included with the photo card.

The video is 16x9... I do wish that they offered a 9x16 version that was specificity formatted for social.

Vertical video is evil.

Quote from: legoerosion on February 03, 2025, 02:21:45 PMWeird how they deleted your other reply - it's a valid question to ask. Dangling a carrot in-front of those wanting to know just makes it seem like it's for an ego-boost.

It was my reply that got deleted. It's not the first time, but I don't hold it against shave at all. I understand he tries to keep things non-personal...and we have some strong personalities here. ;)

Sounds like what they really need is an extreme coaster flat ride that can accommodate the whole family including infants and great-grandparents while staying totally in theme like Miss Mary's Day.

Oh, and make it a dark ride mountain coaster water plunge theme just to cover all bases.

Quote from: marolinesdad on January 10, 2025, 01:15:04 PMI still miss Big Jacks sandwich shop.  Those Muffuletta sandwiches were fantastic.
OK, I will bite what is in a Muffuletta sandwhich.
It's a big pile of New Orleans Sicilian deliciousness.

Quote from: Jesus4me on November 21, 2024, 07:45:57 AMThis is perfect to place where the old Fire in the Hole is. You can use the existing structure. It would give the park another weather resistant ride which can work in all conditions. The movie could be a "Soar over the Ozarks", with a Old Time Christmas replacement of "Rudolph the Red nose reindeer Flight. "

How about it being a diving bell going under Lake Silver?  ;D
