My family and I have learned to pack flip flops in our backpack. We just swap into them right before getting in line. It's been amazing.

Just something that I noticed. They are advertising their new family coaster SkyHawk as the midwests Fastest, longest, and tallest family suspended coaster. Dragonrun at Oasis at Lakeport is going to be faster and longer than it so they are wrong/lying. It will be taller than Dragonrun by 4 feet though.

[/quote]You have to admit new fire in the hole and mystic river are terrible rides. NFitH qulaity is terrible and lacks the theming and charm of the original, plus it's always freaking down. The boats on mystic river are terrible. You don't get wet at all!! The only people that get wet are the 1/3 side of the boat that hits the water after the drop. The rapids themselves do not get you wet. The boat is too big and enclosed. Just god awful.

I completely disagree on everything said here. I have been on 20ish of the river rapid rides and Mystic River is a top 2 or 3 for me. I went with a group of 8 people a couple of months ago and every one was soaked to the point that they wished that they brought other shoes.

If you want to see a dry water ride then I would point to Bello Bay Cruise at Universal Kids Resort. I rode that one a handful of times and didn't get wet at all unless you are counting the squirting guns on the bridges.

Off topic, but... I'm curious to hear a quick thought on the micro nuclear underground reactors they are talking  about testing in Southeast Kansas.

hmmm....not quite what I work with and I don't have any insider knowledge about that specific project. I would not be happy if they were testing it close to my home though.

It already happened. They sent a email yesterday and it sold out pretty quickly.

The only other RMCs that I have ridden are New Texas Giant and Fire in the Hole so maybe it's normal but does anyone know why Outlaw Run's lap bar is so heavy? Seems like I am helping someone lift it up every single ride.

I am pretty new to the theme park life myself. I had only been to Six Flags St.Louis a couple of times as a kid until like 3 years ago when my girlfriend took me to Old Time Christmas with her family. They go every year but don't really ride any coasters. Mainly shows/food/lights. I was 400 pounds at the time and couldn't ride anything except for Fire in the Hole (old one) and Flood Mine. We went again the next year and I was too big to fit on the new Fire in the Hole!!!! That kind of lit a spark in me and I decided to lose weight.

I've lost 150 pounds in the last 18 months and we have been to 7 different theme parks this year. We are from Kansas city and have season passes to SDC and Six Flags. I've been to SDC 8 times this year so far with two more to go. Our favorites are Mystic River (we change into flip flops before getting on). My personal favorite is Outlaw Run, specifically in the front row. It's an insane ride.

I have a 10 year old and a 9 year old and they are scaredy cats. They LOVE Thunderation although they were scared of it at first. The older one has rode Powderkeg and loved it but the younger one hasn't been brave enough yet.

Favorite season would have to be Christmas although I am really excited for Fall. Great weather and night rides has me pumped.

My mother in law is starting to get jealous of us taking weekend trips to the city once a month. She is wanting to get a season pass and go with us.

Should she get the pass now or wait until September 18. Does SDC does the thing that six flags does with their passes. The "get rest of this year plus all of next year" thing?

So the new ride is not a new area other than the connecting path? Just the ride?

I imagine we will learn more on 9/18 but it seems there will at least be a couple shops.

Swoosh, it's ok to admit you were wrong about almost everything on this one.  September announcement, no lift hills, multiple launches, etc

It might be too late to admit he was wrong since he is still acting like he knew all along.

And finally congrats to hollijo for being the first to post what the ride was going to be. I'm sure a lot us knew you were right, but we couldn't just come right out and say it at the time. 

Okay Swoosh, are you telling us that you intentionally said this was NOT at TNT replacement and also the announcement would be in September to intentionally deceive us into believing hollijo was incorrect? 

Swooosh brought up that FanFest was probably when they were going to announce it, and that's not a crazy theory for anyone to think of. Several people mentioned that possibility as well.

he said it was "confirmed" to be in September and that the only "replacement" this is for TNT is that they are both rolleorcasters. He's not trying to hide what it is he just doesn't know what he's talking abt 😭

No signature moment? What about the tunnel? What about the station fly through? What about the rockwork flybys? The final swoop into the valley? There are several big moments on this ride!

It's a family coaster. I know many were thinking it was going to be another big thrill coaster, but reorient yourselves please. This is AMAZING for what it is. Go look at Quantum Accelerator and how it it just built over a bunch of empty gravel on a flat lot - and that is apparently a pretty good ride!

Theming looks light? What? Was that a joke flew over my head? This will be the most themed coaster in the park other than FITH!

I'm with you on this. It looks great for a family ride. The theming is going to be amazing compared to the classic six flags gravel lot.

Anyone see anything about max speed yet? I would imagine it would be around 40-45mph but that's just a guess.

Now we need to try to figure out the first in america thing and what kind of model is it? is it something new or is it just a big youngstar?
