I hope and pray this isn't anything like big boring mountain, terrible gravy, or diseases wolf gorge. Those coasters are terrible. I've been to sdc over 1,000 times. Its my favorite place in the world. But the last time we went was awful. Rides down everywhere, all the old timers are slowly retiring and the new younger workers are rude and don't give a fuck about the park. It was bad enough that I'm not bringing my family back for the first time in the 43 years I've been alive. We are going elsewhere this year. And if this new coaster is anything like those stupid family coasters that have gotten so popular, we will not be back next year either.

May 11, 2026, 11:21:21 PMQuote from: legoerosion on May 01, 2026, 05:26:59 PMJust got back from visiting. They had a big crane on site today, it was moving a cement mixer but surely we will see stuff move quickly now since they have it on site.
They are still making footers from what I can tell.
We also rode plunge and they have the whirlpool scene boarded up and drained. It really looks like there is a footer in there now.
I'll post photos later tonight when I go through them
Man I really hope they re-theme AP after all this is done. It used to be so cool back in the day with the tunnel scenes and whirlpool. I understand things break and wear down over time but I was really disappointed when they just filled in the tunnel. It was very un-SDC to do that.

November 14, 2025, 11:50:31 AMQuote from: Dewayne on November 13, 2025, 09:56:54 PMMan that would be pretty sick. Have it roll out of the station right into underground tunnels with faint or sparse lighting. It would give you a crazy rush and feel of flying and narrow misses. Then have it launch out of the tunnels to make its return back to the station.Quote from: History Buff on November 13, 2025, 09:08:39 AMHow about a suspended launch? Is that a thing? Could it be a thing? SDC doesn't have a suspended coaster in the collection.I am almost positive this will be coming at some point eventually. Just don't know when. I've always pictured it being where TNT currently stands.
Themed to bats flying out of the cave/mine?

Ooh or what if it's a joint venture with Mack providing the main rollercoaster and dynamic attractions providing everything in the "mine" via there sfx coaster model. None of those in NA.
Dunno if they would be compatible. Just puking out ideas.

I know Mack launched seems to be the consensus, but what if it was a vekoma stc/boomerang combo. I saw this on airtime thrills. That would also check off the multiride box. First one in NA. There are 2 overseas.

You can see the track layout starting to take shape. I hope it goes out a little further.

November 04, 2025, 11:17:17 AMQuote from: Dewayne on November 03, 2025, 09:22:08 AMI really want this to be like Big Grizzly, which is basically a newer version of Expedition Everest. Those coasters look so incredible and unique! They look like something SDC would do.I wouldn't mind that. A launch out of the station down the hill doing some twists and turns. Then a pause for a little show then something blows up and it launches back up the hill through the mine tunnels. But I want it to go 80mph. 70 would be okay too lol.

November 01, 2025, 07:14:20 PMQuote from: Swoosh on November 01, 2025, 09:16:20 AMYes true. But I would think SDC is above that and build something with a "hard" first if you know what I mean.Quote from: rabidplatypus on October 31, 2025, 11:46:19 PMQuote from: Swoosh on October 30, 2025, 08:42:46 PMThe point being, there are no multi launch minetrains. There's your world firstThat would REALLY be shitty if that's where they are going with this marketing.
But aren't most "first in the nations"? They're usually made up stats for marketing

Construction/Rumors / Re: Next new ride, next to go?
October 31, 2025, 11:44:27 PM
MRF never went down a single time over the weekend I went this summer. The river part is fun, the drop is fun. But, the rafts absolutely SUCK! You do NOT get wet whatsoever unless you are on the half of the raft that hits the water after the drop. And even then, if the other half of the raft weighs more, you only get a misting. We rode it around a dozen times over that weekend and I only got wet twice from the big drop. It's clear the rafts were designed to be able to safely hit the water after the gimmicky drop and it shows. Very disappointing. Six flags st. Louis has a better river ride and that's saying something since that one sucks.

I really really hope it's not a big bear mountain or family coaster type. I really hate this family coaster crazy. I get the need, but I'm just a thrill guy.

I agree. They are all just different variants of each other. Maybe a little taller or faster. And if they don't fix the B&M rattle that these new ones are having their reputation will start to take a hit.

I think the biggest and possibly only factor is cost. B&M is notoriously expensive. They are proven and successful coasters, so they can charge more. I think Herschend would rather get a better value elsewhere, while also getting more unique coasters.
Just look at the cost you get compared to other manufacturers.
The costs listed are what they paid paid and the ones in () are 2025 dollars.
Wildfire - $14m ($25m) - Standard B&M Floorless
Wild Eagle - $20m ($31m) - Standard B&M Wing
Outlaw Run - $10m ($14m) - First of its kind coaster
Time Traveler - $26m ($33m) - First of its kind coaster

I agree with the launch part with them bringing out the canon and actively using the word launch at fanfest.
I don't see them removing TNT though. It's running great and can still eat up crowds on busy days. And the operators I talked to said it's not going anywhere. I know that means nothing though.
I hope it's all thrill and not intermediate.

What is the rebar sticking up from the footers? Is that where more concrete is going or where the support will attach to the footer? And why is the rebar on the first footer in a square pattern but the rest round? Could that be a clue to manufacturer?
