Man, I can't wait for those mugs to be eventually phased out somehow. All it does is bring out the nasty in people. (From personal experience working, not saying you were).

Is the $1.50 that detrimental?

Quote from: shavethewhales on June 10, 2026, 09:15:25 AMThe footer layout doesn't lend itself to anything massive. There appears to be one long straight section running parallel to the PK launch/first hill, then a swoop down the hill, but other than that there are a ton of tightly spaced footers up the hill between AP and PK. Seems like it'll have to be something with tight turns and compact track. Also, the station is fairly short. All of that lends to the stryker idea.

I guess we only have to wait a couple more months to find out. I wouldn't be surprised if supports start going up before then though. Not sure how much more foundation level work they need to do, but it sure seems like it could go vertical any day.

The tight bundle of footers between PK and AP is what is currently swaying me away from the whole "mine train" idea that's been floating about. When I think of a mine train, I think of at least 6 to 12 car trains. It's hard to imagine something of that size being able to navigate whatever goes in that area.

An idea that I really don't want to come to fruition, but I could see them using the land where Birdies Cabin/ apple butter/ petting zoo area for an expansion. It's not that popular of a spot unless you're a regular visitor to the park, and would allow for an easy footprint expansion near the entrance.

But I also like my quiet areas and hope this never happens

I'm not sure what a "record breaking announcement" that has a theme similar to the tease from last year's FanFest (stock shares given to attendees) as well as the general theme they've been setting (the marvel cave mining stock season cups) could even be if it isn't related to the current construction.

I wonder how long they'll leave Thunderation SBNO before tearing it down, considering they aren't in a rush to year down the original FITH.

Quote from: rabidplatypus on June 02, 2026, 10:46:57 AMI hope and pray this isn't anything like big boring mountain, terrible gravy, or diseases wolf gorge. Those coasters are terrible. I've been to sdc over 1,000 times. Its my favorite place in the world. But the last time we went was awful. Rides down everywhere, all the old timers are slowly retiring and the new younger workers are rude and don't give a fuck about the park. It was bad enough that I'm not bringing my family back for the first time in the 43 years I've been alive. We are going elsewhere this year. And if this new coaster is anything like those stupid family coasters that have gotten so popular, we will not be back next year either.

From my experience, usually the employees are rude whenever it's first slung in their direction. Seems like it might be a you issue  ;)

Quote from: legoerosion on April 16, 2026, 12:00:03 PMI've heard some rumblings of a "big announcement" on August 14th that'll happen before fan-fest.

 :)

There's a lot of possibilities for this ride, but with how sudden they closed TNT, this probably isn't its replacement. They didn't get TNT Final season merch (besides the t shirts) until a few weeks ago due to the quick turnaround they of announcing it.

I'd love to see a Stryker with a turntable/rumble track with the mining theme they have going on, but I'd be happy with whatever. This looks to be a stand out ride no matter the model

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they did the new coaster announcement in August followed by Fan-fest with more info about it and the area around it (new shops and food building) as well as new festivals and the opening date for the resort along with reservations opening. They could sprinkle in a few more surprises

I believe if you ride Wildfire you can see a trail of footers going to and leaving the building. The station could be the lower part of the structure. I'll have to ride it again and take another look

Quote from: Swoosh on May 17, 2026, 12:32:19 PMThat fence is around the whirlpool scene.  It's not new

That makes sense, I must've misremembered my last visit in that area. Looking back at the previous picture I see it now

Here's a look on the Powder Keg side. It looks like they're making a large concrete pad where the new fence has gone up. The new fence is odd anyways, it's blocking the trees and the new structure. Lots of digging going on down past the powder keg launch.

Big building with supports at the top of it. They're doing lots of ground work around the plunge area.

Quote from: mg on May 04, 2026, 08:58:59 PMNo photos, but the supposed station has gone vertical with steel. There is quite a bit of structural steel staged in that area too.

Building the station before any track installed is certainly an odd choice

It's going to be great once the ride is revealed so we can see what the layout is, because it really seems like the footers are just scattered about.
