Honestly, depending on how well Nightflight Expedition does at Dollywood (not counting the first day hiccups it's encountering), I could really see that model being used for a FM revamp somewhere in the park.

I'll have to pull up a topo map and see, but could another reason behind them not expanding out be because of the terrain? People already complain about Hill st and how rough it is to walk up, I can't imagine that the park would want to expand further down the hillside due to that and the cost associated with lessening the grade.

It's also worth noting that the theming probably will look a lot better and cohesive than it does in the POV/flyby videos. There are decorations that are missing in the flyby video that are there in person. There's also the fact that they didnt include PK and WF in the videos, so seeing their interaction with MME will help a lot more when it's time to ride. (I'm personally looking forward to the final turn that'll but right up next to Wildfire)

With the new sidewalk connecting to PK being named Daredevil Pass, and since that's the theme of AP, it kind of puts the focus on AP, implying that the theming needs to be greatly enhanced on AP!

And finally congrats to hollijo for being the first to post what the ride was going to be. I'm sure a lot us knew you were right, but we couldn't just come right out and say it at the time. 

Okay Swoosh, are you telling us that you intentionally said this was NOT at TNT replacement and also the announcement would be in September to intentionally deceive us into believing hollijo was incorrect? 

Swooosh brought up that FanFest was probably when they were going to announce it, and that's not a crazy theory for anyone to think of. Several people mentioned that possibility as well.

I am disappointed.

I am slightly happy how the ride looks, has 2 chain lifts, the landscaping, water, the fact that it will go thru the top of the station like thunderhead does, that it will interact with AP, the tunnel, the fact that it is a compact coaster, and has some Airtime moments that I can see.

Unfortunately, I am also disappointed by what it is. The airtime moments don't look strong enough to me compared to what Ozark Wildcat had, I don't see many airtime moments, I expected it to go around PK, cross the tracks, go behind OR, turn around, go into a show builing, go in reverse, drop track, have 3 chain lifts, and come back. The fact that they had the chance to theme this as another one of Doc Harris's new inventions because it is directly across the road, yet they didn't, is also another MAJOR disappointment! I expected something that would finally give Hagrid's Motorbike Adventure a run for it's money! Instead, we just get the newer version of Hiccup's Wing Gliders.... 🙄😒

Shave, THIS is why everyone is upset and disappointed. We expected one thing, yet we get less!

So now, my question is: Why is all that land cleared, why was it not used for this coaster, and what is it planned to be used for???

The only thing you can blame/be disappointed at is yourself for building up this immense amount of hype for a project that was just speculation until three hours ago. "We expect this but got less" when you set the expectations is going to lead to disappointment everywhere. 🤷

Would I have loved a Stryker, or something a little more thrilling? Yes absolutely. But I'm still going to love this, especially with the smaller height requirement. My daughter can ride with me on this. Not every ride needs to be extreme and gimmicky. This fills in a hole that is very needed at the park.

I think it's worth giving some credit to Swooosh/MidwestInfoGuide for the very early rumors about it being themed towards the ozarkian daredevil society, with the whole new land being called Daredevil Falls

I really wish this was something thrilling but it's not. Project 2027 is a DIRECT TNT replacement. This has been planned for the past 3+ years. Anyone who expects this to be on the same level of Time Traveler thrill wise is going to be disappointed. Obviously this will be marketed the entire family but this is not going to be a thrill machine or anything remotely close. It will be Thunderation's Mystic river falls with a first of its kind and some "family friendly" records broken. Herschened as a whole is pivoting entirely from Thrill to family and this will follow

The only "TNT Replacement" this ride will be is that they're both rollercoasters.  I guess you could make the argument it's replacing 1 for 1 but the REAL "TNT Replacement" is coming on 2029.  This ride was planned well before TNT decided to kick the bucket faster than expected.  TNT was expected to coexist with this new ride next season. 

Swoosh, thanks for being the voice for reason amongst all these new users adamantly trying to convince us of something other than what's obvious.  I appreciate what you contribute to this forum.

I guess in August when SDC makes the announcement you guys will finally see this is not a thrill machine and Insted a Thunderation replacement. But in the meantime believe what you want lol

I was eating lunch by the water fall at lumber camp and a whistle kept going off. It sounded almost like the train but more airy sounding.

I hope that if there is indeed a path connecting the WF and PK path, they also add in some restrooms in that area, as well as maybe another restaurant and shop in the area. I'm not sure where it'll fit at all, but they would be welcomed additions to the land, especially the restrooms.

With more construction and flooring in place at the station you can clearly see the divide in the station where the coaster track sits and it appears to be too narrow for a Stryker or even a Big Dipper. This is likely for two across seat trains. I'm trying hard to reserve judgement here but I'll be disappointed if this is another low capacity ride. With the expansion plans for the park and the ever increasing crowds, they really do need something in addition to what Wildfire offers in terms of capacity.

In other news since I couldn't legally obtain pics, there are at least a dozen more footers for the coaster itself being constructed down the hill from the station. The large concrete area adjacent to it appears to be footer columns for maintenance/transfer track. These can be easily viewed from Wildfire as you drop. Really surprised they still haven't progressed beyond the pouring footers stage with the announcement being under 2 weeks away now.

It may also just entirely be the perspective playing a big trick. I don't even see how the track itself will fit haha

MME is the name.  No I won't spoil it for.  Honestly I'm surprised no one has figured it out yet. 

The candle theory is interesting, but I count three launches.  One into the helix garden.  One down the hill.  One back up the hill.  I just don't see how else the ride will function otherwise. 

Anyone figured out what the big footer is for yet? 😉

A switch track or turntable, perhaps? A dynamic piece like that will really help elevate this already impressive ride

SDC is teasing the "Gold Dollar City" name change right now. I remember "Goldrush Junction" or something similar being in one of the ride surveys so it might be the new ride name here.

This was also one of the early day names for what became Dollywood so anything's possible.

I remember seeing a post on reddit that had a banner saying "Fools Gold Rush" with the Marvel Cave Mining Co branding and everything. They also brought packages of the park's fools gold candy with it. I'm not sure where the image originated from.

It'd be funny to fall for fools gold haha
