Here's a great documentary from the two Hershcend brothers that own the park.

Once again, thank you for your tireless work on this site.   I've been in withdrawal the past week.

Quote from: shavethewhales on April 01, 2026, 08:52:05 AMSomething odd has been going on where we are getting massive bandwidth usage every month now. Like 10x what we would commonly see in a month a couple years ago. We are using more bandwidth per month now than back in the 2010's when this site was hopping. I am assuming it is AI/bot traffic. Not really sure how to handle it yet.

We bought one in SDC a few years ago.  Not sure it is still available there or not.

Quote from: sdcfan88 on January 01, 2026, 06:51:50 PMWell, it looks like TNT will be getting a stay of execution thru at least 2027 per Brad Thomas. (scroll to bottom pic) https://negative-g.com/silver-dollar-city/2025/coaster-christmas/silver-dollar-city-2025-coaster-christmas.htm

Fantastic work.  Enjoyed the pics and the descriptions.

At FanFest Brad mentioned that the new live tree that will be in the plaza (behind Red Gold) will have a lighting similar to the Rockefeller Tree in NYC.  That to me sounds like they will have a countdown every night and turn all the lights on at once.  Just my interpretation.  I would be SHOCKED if they ever changed/stopped the animated tree in the Main Street square.

You won't have to look very hard to see work being done.  I'm already bracing myself for the complaints that will be incoming.  It's pretty drastic

Uh oh, that doesn't sound good.

SDC sells that documentary in DVD form in the park.  I bought it years ago.  I've watched it numerous times.  Great stuff.

Quote from: Swoosh on January 20, 2025, 08:00:33 PMFun fact: if you were paying attention, they've already done the survey work for the attraction.

So Swoosh by survey, do you mean survey the land with flags, stakes, etc. or do you mean email survey where questions are thrown at us about potential new developments?

I'd love to see the Christmas parade expanded with more floats/entrants.  With the crowds getting bigger and bigger, more and more people are lining up 30mins to an hour before the parade starts only for it to be over in a blink of an eye.  I recorded the parade on one of our visits to OTC this year, and it was less than 4 minutes (there were a few things missing that night).   I would think a few more floats and some more walking entrants, would push it closer to 10 mins and make the wait worth it.  Just my two cents.
