Source told me to expect the park's next big coaster in 2027. Wonder if we will see any minor additions before then.

Screamscape's reporting that the park is looking at giving Outlaw Run the I-Box treatment, similar to Lightning Rod's recent renovation. Anyone heard any actual rumors of that happening?

Does Main Street/Midtown still open an hour before the official opening time?

The fact that the park hadn't licensed these songs is absurd to me. I can't really blame the rightsholders for finally speaking up. How did these shows even last so long?

I really can't imagine them ditching Christmas Carol. They can't find anyone to write a little bit of an original score with a mix of public domain Christmas songs sprinkled in? Dolly wouldn't be willing to help a sister park out?

Made a trip out to the park today. The pathways were packed, but we spent the day hopping from coaster to coaster and never encountered a wait longer than 20 minutes. SDC really has the best set of coasters for night rides, with all of them being out in the woods.

I was with college friends so we didn't really stop to look at any craftsmen booths, like I would have if I were with family, but there was a noticeable difference in quantity from past years. The cowboy festival concept fit the park a lot better IMO. That being said, I appreciate the park being open later for night rides, and obviously Pumpkin Nights is a much larger draw than the cowboy festival ever was. I think if they tinker it to fit the park more by spreading out the pumpkins, it'll work better. At least the party area was over in Grand Expo, which doesn't really fit with the park anyways. If they expand this event I could see it growing to be just as popular as Christmastime.

Minor complaints about P-Nights aside, I've been a pass holder for the past 6 years and I still find something new to appreciate every visit. I'd never had a meal in the mine restaurant before- what a cool place. I know a lot of people are worried about the changes the park is making, but the charm the park carries has never really faded away to me. My college friends who care a lot more about coasters than themeing still pointed out that they loved the park because of the theme and how consistent it was. I think the younger generation will continue to appreciate the park just as much as the older ones have.

Not sure if this is being discussed elsewhere, but a cashier informed us that this is the final season for Rudolph and friends (the merchandise is all on clearance).

Thunderbird at Holiday World blew me away. A launched wing coaster would be a great choice for the park.

If anything replaces Flooded Mine anytime soon, it'll be another dark ride. A coaster in the middle of the park would totally ruin the feel of that area, and even current management wouldn't do that.

I don't see Flooded Mine leaving. I don't know what else could go in it's space. If anything, they'll completely redo the ride, but I don't see that happening soon. It's a classic, it's for the whole family, and it's one of SDC's signature non-coaster rides.

As for the comments about "You could go anywhere to ride coasters": that's true, but SDC has an exceptional line-up. Outlaw Run is spectacular and is, in my opinion, the best coaster in the midwest, if not the country. Powder Keg is incredible, and there is no family launched coaster that really compares. Wildfire is the least unique coaster at the park, as it's your standard B&M looper, but it's still exceptional. Thunderation is one of the best mine trains out there.

But yes, SDC is not just about the coasters. It's about the atmosphere, the theming, the friendliness of the employees, the craftsmen, the shows, etc. The park is the whole package. Is Flooded Mine a part of that package? Yes. Do I see it leaving soon? Like I said earlier, no. But if I'm wrong and it does leave, the park still has plenty of unique attractions to offer.
