HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!! to everyone

Rube you are not hijaking the thread so don't worry about that We are all a family here and I am more than happy to share a thread with any one of you. I only wish that the circumstances were different. Prayers for your family as you embark on this journey, and I hope that the doctors can find a fix for the situation you are facing. God Bless you and your family and all of you that have given us your thoughts and prayers over the last few days.

Thank you all. Last night we touched our baby for the last time. We showered him with kisses and tears. The services were more than we could have ever asked for and the outpouring of support both from our friends and family as well as those of you here has been overwhelming. We have great memories as we, the ones that are left her on this earth, begin our healing process. I just take solice in the fact that he will not ever feel any pain, nor have to ever go through anything remotely like this ever. My father in law has said it the best so far as he has said " I hope that when it is my time to go, that I would have made as much of an impact on this world in my 50 years as this little boy has done in his short 18 months." I know that I have not posted much on the site lately, but today I come to you all to ask for prayers and thoughts. Our 18 month old child passed away yesterday Oct. 23, 2012. He went to sleep on the evening of the 22nd and passed sometime during the night. We had no warning as he had only a slight fever and no reason to think of anything otherwise. My wife awoke to find him the next morning, and as I was at work I recieved that emergency call that all parents in emergency services fear, the call to your home address. I know that things will get better over time but right now we could use all the prayers we can get. We have a wonderful family and freind base surrounding us right now but we could use all the love we can get. Thank You all and God Bless.

I'm with everyone else, this site is our home away from home as it pertains to Silver Dollar City!!!! I have enjoyed reading everyones posts and have gained quite a little bit of knowledge from our resident historians. We have also prayed for and with each other in our times of need. Love the site and wish to send out a special THANK YOU to Shavethewhales for starting it in the first place. God Bless everyone and here is to many many more years of SDCFANS!!!!!

Get Well Soon!!!

We try not to spend more than $100.00 when we go down for just a day trip. We usually try to take water bottles with us and refill them at the drinking fountains ect. Our biggest expenditures are always lunch, be it at the Rib House or the buffet at the Mine Restaurant, and the souvenirs, as all the kiddos think they have to have something to take home to annoy us with LOL. We do use our Season Pass discount as much as possible so we usually end up making it home with $50 or more!!!

Welcome to the group!!! . 6 times already wow. I probably won't get to make it down this year, as we are trying the first time home buying thing so I guess I'll just have to imagine myself there as I read through the trip reviews as they come in here on the site. Any way welcome once again to our little group of SDCFANS.

I'd say my second worst visit( since I already posted a first) would be a trip back in 2002 or 2003 during the Christmas season. It seemed that everyone wanted to congregate around the square and it was bottle necked at every turn when trying to get down into the rest of the park. Ended up having to use our stroller to try to bulldoze our way through to get past, saying excuse me of course. After about an hour we finally did. Once down the hill It was like having the park to ourselves but it was the getting there and back out that were the pain.

We too,  always make our rounds around the HH and then the Ozark Mountain Marketplace. Usually always have to drag the kiddos out of each one because we tell them ahead of time that these two places will be where they can get their souvenirs, and of course they always think that they are allowed to bring the entire south end of the park home with us, so we usually end up spending an hour or so trying to pry them out of the stores and through the turnstiles. Then depending, on if we are leaving and heading home or not, we either head back to Branson and hit the Tracks or Mini golf, or if headed home( since we live just across the state line in Kansas from Joplin) we either hit the McDonalds in Lakeview, oops I mean Branson West and head out that way, or jump on 65 and head up to Lamberts and have supper there and then head for the house. Either way the kiddos are most normally asleep as we make the two hour trip home and it is quiet time for the wife and myself.

Park Emergency Medical Technician ( EMT) might as well stay with what I'm good at!!!

I've got a T-shirt that says that " I do everything that the voices in my wife's head tell me to do"
and  I know it's not a T-shirt but what about the great Branson staple of the hat with two bills that says" I'm their leader, which way did they go."
And of course who could forget all of those Big Johnson and Co-ed Naked shirts from the 1990's.
