Read today on another board that there's a new issue of SDC Times in the mail. Has several BAF coupons and some coupons for food and merchandise.

At least you get them... I have not gotten one in 2 seasons.. SDC has my correct address but the mail service here is less than par.

Its probably just me, (usually is), but did the SDC Times for this lastest issue seem more like a coupon clipper rather then a news letter? I love the offers and bring a friend coupons but seems like this one had very little to read about like they usually do.

I've been a season pass holder for years, and sometimes I get the Times and sometimes I don't. I haven't received the current issue yet. I sure would like to get this issue, though, since it has a coupon for $2.99 cinnamon bread (or so I read on another board). ;D

My copy finally arrived on Saturday. Will use the coupons for the Twisted Taters, the cinnamon bread, the kettle corn, the hot apple turnover.... my mouth is watering as I type this. ;D

good question. i wondered the same thing. I received 1 dated june 2010, had a bunch of food coupons and other discounts. but did not get another copy this year.???

I'm curious too. Didn't the last issue have some coupons for some reduced Bring a Friend tickets for the Christmas festival? That would lead me to believe they might not have another one this year. But, it sure would be nice to have some new coupons for my Christmas trips.

Look for a new "Times" every few weeks as the show schedules and park hours change...also as festivals change out. Same with brochures in racks...they must keep the printing presses very busy!

i thought maybe it was a season pass "perk", but only received the one issue. it had coupons for food in july and august.. some bring a friend passes, also a white water discount. I was hoping maybe it was a "paper" SDC sent out every 2 or maybe 3 months all year. but apparantly not. :-\

swoosh, have never seen " sdc times" on the website. Pathfinder news is readily available.. If you know where to access the "SDC TIMES" Let me know..I have 3 more trips planned this year and want to take advantage of any and all discounts ;D

It is usually on the Schedules/Brochures page but it is currently not on there.
I think the one they had up was really out of date.

ok thanks. i do watch that page and have not seen "times" on there before.. that is why i thought maybe it was a season pass thing,, and was mailed out to pass holder...Guess we will see what happens.. thanks again .

The last Times I received was in June. It did have two "bring-a-friend" coupons for OTC and several others for the summer and fall. I haven't seen anything else. The on-line edition I saw didn't have any coupons in it. There is a link to the on-line version of the last edition posted earlier in this thread. I don't know if it still active.

The Times doesn't come out on a regular schedule anymore. The issue that came out during the summer had BAF coupons that lasted through mid December. I've already given away one of the coupons but I still have the one that's a BAF for $25 for Saturdays only Nov. 6, 13, 20, and Dec. 4, 11, and 18. Somestimes if you call customer service the person will let you know if an issue of the Times is available.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if one day SDC Times goes all digital, and they no longer mail out copies.

I enjoy the mailed hard copies. After a day in front of the computer, I need some joy in my mailbox other than the bills, and junk mail. The very rare copies I get, I read from cover to cover. Funny that I purchase 3 season passes every year-mom-wife- self, yet I do not receive a times....only my wife does. weird

This is just a complete off the wall guess, but I wonder if the reason you do not receive copy, but your wife does is because they only send one copy per household? ???

Yeah, I have the same situation at my house. I paid for the passes, my credit card anyway, and the wife gets the Times! Huh? Not fair, not fair!! (in corner holding breath)

That is kinda funny because the same thing at my house. I paid for the season passes the credit card has my name yet my wife gets the the Times. I did ask once and they do only send one per household but how her name is always on it I have no idea

i actually thought about buying our two passes, and then buying mil- (mother in law) the next day using her card and address.. that way we can get 2 copies of the times.. I also thought about buying 1 pass for me and then our first trip done next year doing the upgrade on the BAF for the wife... whatcha think? :-\

Someone on the 1branson board said he/she had recently called customer service and was told that another issue of the Times would be mailed in November.

i expect the times to be mailed 1st week on november, with our season pass information and the new ride info.....

November definitely sounds logical. I wonder if I will receive a copy this year? Although I am currently a Season Pass holder, I took a year off, and wasn't one last year. I guess I will find out one way, or another. ;D

ozark, i was not a pass holder last year, but obviously have a pass this year and have received 1 copy of the times in June. Anxiously waiting for the next one.,

I just noticed it. Meh. Way too many beveled edges, IMO. It'll fall out of fashion relatively quickly and need updating again within a few years. Too much effort put into making it 'pop'.

We were there today and got our season passes and the new logo is like that on all the stuff and sure I am really big with changing the logo at all

I like the new logo, but I am not a big fan of pudgy blue, and gold boarder. Although timeless, the old logo still seems a bit "flat" compared to today's standards. I do think the logo looks good with a little depth to it.
While reading the times, did anyone else notice that the Bring-A-Friend pass is only valid after 6:00 PM during the summer months? Perhaps a ploy to entice people to visit during Moonlight Madness? :)

We have been getting them regularly this year even though we didn't go to SDC or have season tickets in 2010. We had them in 2009, and will be getting them again for 2011.

There are so many variables as to why a few people didn't receive their copy. Perhaps it was a change in address that hasn't been updated in the computer system? Perhaps Silver Dollar City uses some type of filter to send The Times to certain demographics? Perhaps the mailman simply just lost the copy? :P
Without physically being in the advisement department of the company, there is simply no way of knowing for sure, but boy isn't speculation fun! ;D

Um me, and my nearly one hundred dollars spent on a Season Pass this year, and my nearly one hundred dollars spent on a Season Pass next year. Besides, the Times makes for great reading while having no choice, but to wait through certain, "bathroom business." ;)

i keep my copies close to me in the living room.. i can check sdcfans site, and quick look at the times.... Gets me by until my next road trip.! ;D 12 days. :-[

I have time for reading. You never know what might come up in the issue. Not only that if I ever recieved my copy, it gets me thru till I visit again. I use it for homeschool purposes.

There’s something almost magical about opening up the mailbox, and finding your very own unexpected copy of The Times! :D
That’s something that no website, or lack or reading time could replace! Besides, if I have the time to read the endless comments on SDCFans.com, then I can delegate just as much time to read The Times. :)

just to clarify, we read it together and then he draws a picture about what we read. Its much better read than most things out there. We also read conservation magazines and travel books.
