Title: Photos of Branson "Water Chute"?
Post by: jsuede on July 19, 2009, 02:36:21 PM
I haven't been to Branson since I was in middle school (I'm 30 now), but have been relishing reading up on this forum about SDC and the area. I am planning a vacation to Branson but have not been able to find information about a favorite childhood attraction.

My parents would always take me and my sister to Branson every summer in the 80's and 90's and the most vivid memory I have is of a huge outdoor waterslide that you rode down on a mat. It was on the strip.

Does this place still exist? Does anyone have any links to pictures or videos? Would love to revisit it as an adult . . .

It's called the Water Chute.  It's across the street from Wal-Mart on the strip.  As far as I've heard, it's open this year, but I haven't been to Branson since April.  I googled the info:

Water Chute
(417) 334-1919
2115 W 76 Country Blvd, Branson, MO

THANK YOU!

As kids we always referred to it as the "Mat Slide". Couldn't remember the real name...

Anyone have photos? I'm Googling, but no luck.

This place holds a special place in my heart. Lots of fun times there.

The water chute has been in service almost non stop since at least 1977. It's a great place to cool off. It just might be the oldest waterslide in the Branson area.

This thread also makes me think of the mat slide that was located "roughly" between Branson West and Notch. Anyone remember that one?  We never did stop at any of these since my parents were White Water devotees (plus my mom swore the water was nasty)  Ha!
