Title: 2021 Seasons pass benefits
Post by: mhguy77 on October 24, 2020, 07:10:34 AM
Looking at the website it appears they updated for next years plan, however they have removed all the free BAF but one.  Do they announce these or add them at a later date?  This is disappointing if true.  I wonder how and if 2020  BAF ( I never did attend and was considering rolling over) would be applied

And just like that, I was priced out of buying tickets for my family. I hope they give an option for JUST 2021 for the normal price. There is NO WAY I will pay over 600.00 for the chance to go. Especially if I have to wear a mask and make reservations or limit times I can go because they are crowded or my schedule does not match what they have available due to crowd levels.

If you have used your season pass this year it will end on June 13, 2021 but you can pay $50 plus tax to extend it to December 30, 2021.  Plus you get bonus bring a friend tickets.

https://www.silverdollarcity.com/Tickets/Season-Passes/Extension-Pass

I am sure in the near future they will have an option for JUST 2021 season pass purchases.

So they will give one BAF ( Opening day>?) and 2 others.  One for later summer and one for late in the year.  The other is a $25 ticket that if history repeats you get in the mail anyway.  Seems like I got 5 this year in my packet, I will check.  I didn't ever go or use any at all so will I revive "like" tickets or the new plan?  I am kind of confused and it does seem like they have cut back.  If masks are still in play next year I may just get my money back.  That has been a deal breaker for me ( and many others it seems).

Some of us don't usually use the BAF's so if you will post when you are going I (and I'm sure others) will be happy to use ours to get you in if we are going to be up there at the same time.  Just a thought.

The way I understand it is if you rolled it over you will receive a brand new packet as if you were buying the 2021 season pass for the first time, and would receive it between January 18 and March 20.   I would imagine it will be pretty much the same as the 2020 pass that you rolled over.

I received 4 BAF in this year's packet with 3 being free and the other at around $25 or $30.

Sit tight, Keep watching.... They will announce in 2 or 3 weeks the 2021 price and benies just like always...

For those of us who have used our season pass, if I'm reading these correctly, you get the same benefits if you extend the pass as you do if you buy new. So you're not penalized for doing the $50 renew....am I seeing this correct?

I was afraid if you renewed the pass you wouldn't get the same BAF benefits.

Speaking of this years pass extended until may or whenever it is. I am assuming that also includes my TB pass?  If I want to pay $50 to extend, what is the cost to extend the TB pass portion?

If you have already visited in 2020 and used the TrailBlazer Season Pass it has automatically been extended through June 13, 2021. A specially-priced TrailBlazer Extension will be available in 2021.

If you have not used your TrailBlazer Season Pass at all 2020, it will be automatically rolled over to a 2021 TrailBlazer Season Pass good for the entire season.

Does anyone know if they are getting rid of the food discount for regular pass holders? It appears that they are(it’s not listed on the pass holder benefits).

Now that would be unfortunate.  I am still on the fence as to if I am going to do the extension for my season pass for next year.  I just do not think I can do the mask thing.  I do not like the metal detectors at the entrance, it is just starting to turn into a place I am not sure I want to deal with anymore, or at least for a year or two.

I think the list is messed up...
they are trying to get people to buy the Gold membership
I looked at it pretty close this weekend,
I couldnt find a specific list for regular SP holders..

pretty sure they "forgot" to list a couple of the regular season pass benefits in order to make the Gold Membership more appealing.. ( i hope so anyway)

If you go to the Season Passes Page https://www.silverdollarcity.com/Tickets/Season-Passes (https://www.silverdollarcity.com/Tickets/Season-Passes), and scroll down to "Compare the Benefits" and under the chart is a link labeled "See All Benefits".   That's where I got the list.

Yeah it looks like the number of BAF free passes are being nearly cut in half (from 5 to 3) for the standard pass. Losing the meal discount is a bit disappointing too.

Not sure where your getting 5 free BAF passes.  In the first packet for 2020 I received 3 free and 1 for $30 and it looks like they are offering the same thing for 2021.

Now they did offer the bonus opening day BAF because season pass holders missed the 3/17 to 5/17 BAF.

It does depend on when you get the passes as to how many BAF's you get but I do remember in years past you could get up to 5 passes whether they be free or reduced price. ($25 or $35 on the latter)

They have gradually cut down the bring a friend over the last few years.  I was just comparing BAF from 2020 to 2021 with early purchase of season pass (looks like no difference).

I believe there might be a pretty big complaint when season pass holders realize they are not getting any food discounts for 2021.  I believe this and the gold pass is probably an income makeup for last year.  I mean when you take a 10% discount away on all food purchased by season pass holders...that is quite a bit of income.

But then again a 20% discount on the gold pass would be pretty nice if you made enough trips and ate at the city a lot.

What exactly are "Premium On-Park Experiences"?  Are they going to upcharge for concerts, this year?

I think I read somewhere they are talking about the trailblazer pass and photo cards and a few other things when talking about "premium On-Park Experiences".

Those things are listed, but don't seem to be "experiences", so I wonder.

I am leaning further toward not extending my pass.  If I do go ahead and extend it, I will not be buying passes for the following year.

What's interesting with the Gold Pass for the discount on food is that it says for gold pass holder only, where the normal season pass in the past was 10% but up to 6 guests. So I wonder if that means if you go to eat with 4 people are they only going to discount what you ate on the ticket.
I get that financially this was not the best year but I hate to think it is going to start becoming a operation where they are going to start making one pay for the little extra perks for having the season pass.
Also what will really suck as well is we did not use are passes this year so we are rolling them over but losing it seems the benefits.
Looking at the price of the Gold pass for the fact that you get a mug with it and 50% off a ticket a day for a guest I think helps with the price and if you get the parking pass again a little discount there as but still think that is asking to much

I was looking at the loss or benifits with the rollover.  Last year I didnt pay attention and purchased a 2 park pass but never intend to go to WW.  I have been examining the Gold pass as a "possible" upgrade instead or rolling over the 2 park I didnt use but it appears that you need to be a person that visits the park often, stay the entire day, bring non pass members with you, and pay up for show passes or culinary school.  I do not fall into that and I wonder how many other pass members do.  I prefer to go to the park for several hours but not the entire day and dont often do extra park buy ups.  The meal discount is good but its a big financial hit for this option.  Is this really worth it for a regular visitor like me?  I dont think it makes financial sense.  I could see a gold pass for visitors to the park for the weekend like a weekend gold option for once a year visitors but not so sure this is worth the extra.

Has anyone got a confirmation that the 10% food discount is actually removed for 2021 standard SP holders?  I emailed SDC, but never got a response.   Been at least a month.   I am trying to do the math myself to see if the 10% is removed, if it is really worth the extra expense for the Gold.   I don't think that I would take advantage of any of the other "perks" with the gold compared to the standard SP.   My math says to get a food discount on an extra $80, I'd have to spend $400 on food to come out even on the extra $80.

Here is the email I received when I asked about food discount and rollover.  It sounds and looks like to me that the only food discount is on the Gold Pass.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for your email. And, please accept our apologies as we weren’t able to respond to your email in a timely manner.

It is correct that the food discounts (20% off Full-Priced Food and Beverages) is a benefit only available to those who purchase the Gold Pass. Here is a link that lists all of the season pass holder discounts by pass https://www.silverdollarcity.com/Tickets/Season-Passes

And, if you have a 2020 season pass that you have not used by the end of the 2020 season, we will automatically roll those passes over and mail to you between January 18 and March 20.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance! Thank you!

Stephanie

I don't think that 10% was on the other passes before.  It looks like they have just recently added it to the other passes.
Possibly they got a little negative feedback when they were just going to give a discount to Gold passholders.
Title: Re: 2021 Seasons pass benefits

Yep, apparently they just added it.  It wasn't there earlier this week and here is a screenshot of it a couple of weeks ago.   Glad to hear that they are including it.

I also see that on the gold pass the 20% is not just for the pass holder only (as seen in picture below).  Now it states:
“20% OFF Full-Price Food & Beverage at Silver Dollar City for you and up to 6 guests visiting with you (no other offer or discounts can be applied).”

Thanks for the new information! I had decided to hold off on the gold passes even without the food discount on the regular SDC passes. Glad to see we will still get that!
