Just a bit of distraction. The game is you have 1 hour in SDC. What 3 things would you do or see.
For me it is the classics
1. Flooded mine - a far cry from its original glory, remember when it had two loading channels, and the spray of near the end, water that shut off just before your ore boat got to it?
2. Peanut brittle demonstration- I don't think this has changed for 50 years. Still the same number of grains of salt used. I still laugh as hard as ever at the jokes (floor samples!!!)
3. Finding the Marshall to be made a deputy sheriff. After 40+ years of visiting he still gives me my pin and has me swear to do good.
These times might be a bit scary, and deserve attention, but take a break and share your top 3.

1. Homestead Picker Show - hopefully it is scheduled during my 1 hour:)
2. Walk around the entire park taking it all in.
3. Pick up a skillet bowl or buffalo kettle chips....and maybe a bag of taffy on the way out.
Great hour - but really need more than an hour right now...
-
1. Pickers
2. Train
3. FM
That said, I would want to see a few people, too, not necessarily all at those places, so I doubt I could do it in one hour and be satisfied.
Honestly, SDC is becoming more about the people than the place anymore, especially since the place is being so drastically changed.

Cant do it in an Hour
Saloon show
walk around check out new stuff, and people
Train
-
If it’s just me, I’d watch some glass blowing, ride the FM, and grab some food and sit by the waterfall while I eat.
If my son is with me, we’d ride the FM for the whole hour and it wouldn’t be enough times to satisfy him.
-
Sarsaparilla, black smith, Pickers
-
Honestly, I’ll just use the hour to visit with my friends who work there
-
It's usually my daughter and I that go. When we go we have some several things we do each time. But I guess the top three for her would be:
1. Tater Twist
2. Candle Making
3. Outlaw Run
Jay
-
My granddaughters and I would arrive before opening and:
Eat apple turnovers
Sing at the flag raising
Ride thunderation
-
1 hour and I think I can squeeze in 4--opening flag raising, Wildfire, Time Traveler, and Outlaw Run!
-
1 hour..... :-\
1. Cinnamon Bread
2. Outlaw Run
3. Fire in the Hole
Another challenge would be: If you and a newbie ride fan had only an hour On a 'light day'....how many rides do you think you could get in? What would you ride and how would you do it.
After Rope Drop:
1. PK
2. FitH
3. OR
4. TT
5. TnT
6. FM
7. WF
Think we could do them in one hour?
-
Saloon Show (providing we got real lucky and got in line right before the show started and still got a seat)
Fire in the Hole
Flooded Mine
if we couldn't get in the saloon show I would have to add TNT (hoping they fix that :-X bump!)
-
If the blacksmith is actually forging, I'd just stop right there and watch (and maybe have a funnel cake).
If not, FITH and the train. At the speed I move these days, that might take more than an hour.

Which is I started with 1 hour isnt enough..~~ LOL
-
I have 1 hour, OK, I will see the parking lot, hospitality house and the cave...
I've actually done that before
-
If we go to the path on the right, then it's TNT, FITH, & PK. If we go left, it's usually PK, FITH, then FM.

How-do, where ya been?

Good to hear from you! I miss your postings. Hopefully, you will be back to work soon! This is the absolute truth: I woke up the other day thinking about SDC and that you haven't posted for awhile - Bam! Checked my internet and there you were! I know that's way out in left field - I must've been dreaming.

Hopefully we all can get back to the park & post all our trips! I am ready for Aug 8th! -- I will get back to work soon, somebody has to clean up cars after this virus stuff. -- Have a good day Gilligan. Shot ya a PM.. :)
