I'll be in town next weekend and we're taking two kids with us. I want their first experience of the best festival to be without hoards of people blocking the decorations. Which day do you think would be less crowded... Saturday or Sunday?
Or would Friday be best?

We will be there next weekend also and the weather forecast is for mid 50's to 60's. I would bet that Saturday will be packed solid. That is the only day we have but if I had the option for Sunday I would take it.

Sunday always has less traffic.. last weekend there were 24,000 on sat, 12 on sunday...... yesterday (sat) had a little over 22,000!!
We will be there next sunday also.. bringing my mother for her first visit in years...

it was crowded yesterday, the 6th, but we still managed to do a lot. went after park opening to Dickens and only had a 20 minute wait before getting into the theatre. then went and rode Outlaw Run with maybe a 5 minute wait (though that did get more crowded after a while). One disturbing thing i did see is that they are offering a Trail Blazer pass with unlimited rides for $60. Hopefully they won't offer too many of those.

We ended up going Friday and Sunday. Friday wasn't too bad, but Sunday was packed. We only went back for a couple hours to do the stuff we missed Friday. We still didn't get to do it all because of the crowds.

Tiff. we were there sunday also.... it did seem busy.. seemed like therer were people everywhere we were! LOL.
and the tree lighting was terrible crowded,,, people lined up for the parade.!!! WOW!!...

very easily could have been 24,000.. the number I heard was 22,500..................

We left right before 7 and the bakery person told us 20,000 then the package pickup guy said 19,500. The trams were still full coming in at that time so, 24,000 for the day is not out of line.

Thought I would post this just for the people that are interested...
Last 2 days of attendance....
Monday was about 40 with sun, decent day, people were very "pushy" about 15,000 attended
Tuesday. Cold- only 6,000 showed up....
That's it!. End of season! Good Luck!!. CYA'l Next year!! LOL......

swoosh, with bad weather predicted and the shops and rides closed, I am sure you are correct.... But if you were on property there would not be any waiting lines anywhere!
