Title: Anchor Village Motel...any ideas?
Post by: betamike on August 18, 2012, 03:38:36 PM
Looks awfully familiar and I'm sure it isn't called that any longer, but can't place it.  Found on Flickr...

I have several anchor village postcards, from different angles, just know it is on Hwy 65...if that narrows things down!

Anchor Village was located adjacent to the old Taneycomo Bridge in downtown Branson. It was on the right, if you were in your car headed to Hollister. The old tourist cabins were still in place when I lived in Branson, but the old resort is gone. They now have apartment buildings on the property, if I remember right. It's been a while since I've driven that route. Might be an office building or shop of some kind on the property, too.

Thanks Junior.  I too remember the cabins being there and had people I knew who stayed on the rocky beach there near the fish camp.

To give you a better idea of where Anchor Village was, I've posted two photos. One "pre" resort, one after it was built. Check the Flickr site:
