YEEHAW!!!! BIG NEWS!!!!! Come on down, Gather around!! Listen up!!
If you were following converstations a week or so ago, Paige mentioned something BIG happening!
Well here are the basics.. Paige will jump in later this weekend with more details..
Homestay Inn is owned by the "Elliot Lodging co.". as you may or may not be aware of elliot lodging own several hotel/motels in branson, springfield, joplin, and and pittsburg, kansas..
They have now added another motel in branson, Econo Lodge on Wildwood road is there newest location.. If you turn south off of 76 past green mountian drive you will find it..
The Elliot group is hoping to have this motel open as early as 1st of march, FOR SURE will be open by Grand opening of SDC on the 15th. Right now to make reservations call Paige at her office number 417-336-2666, Paige will be directly involved with the operation and the hiring of the new staff. Although she reassures me that Homestay is "home", she will be at both locations this year.
OH did I forget to mention....... The SDCFan discount for this year will remain to be 40.00 AND will be honored at BOTH motels!! Homestay & Econo Lodge.. So now we can stay on thw west side of town, or be more centrally located just off 76.. what a great deal this will be for all of us.
So if you are going for opening weekend or like me the weekend of the 24th, call Paige.
Homestay probably will not open until mid-April..

Hello Everyone! Thank you sunddune for starting the thread with the new information.
We are excited to have another hotel in the family and look forward to getting open asap. I will be working at both hotels for the next couple of months, main goal is to get the Econo Lodge open right away and then Homestay will open hopefully no later than April 15th.
The rooms at the Econo Lodge will have in-room coffee, fridge/micro just as we have here at Homestay.
Plus as mentioned the $40.00/night + tax will be offered at both hotels for the SDC Fan members so you can choose your most convienient location and of course Econo will be open before SDC opening day. I am also hoping to have one of the locations stay open until SDC closes for the year. Feel free to contact me with any questions! Hope to hear from you all soon! ;D

That's great that you will have all the same extras in each room. The fridge and micro comes in real handy on those 3 day weekends.
I will be in Branson March 24 & 25 nites, Go ahead And put me on the list for 1 room, 2 queen size beds. Mother-in-law will be with us.

The great people on this fan site are some of the most dedicated people there are. Paige, you were smart to jump on this band wagon before any other hotel/motel. We will definitely be staying at Homestay Inn again this year. Thank you for the great rates, clean rooms, and warm hospitality.

Sad to say we likely will not make it down this year. Didn't even buy passes. With baby coming on Friday, that means I'm out of commission for the first 6 weeks of the season and with losing that mount of time due to surgery, it just didn't make sense to buy 4 passes that we wouldn't be able to use much. We do hope to come down at some point though.

Well how the weather can change lives! All is good here and soooo excited to report that as of 3:00pm this afternoon we are now open at HomeStay Inn! Due to the need for rooms (for FEMA, emergency care, residents in need) and the other two properties did not have power till late in the day, etc.; the owner said "Get it Open Today" so we did! ;D That means that you can still choose between either property (Econo/Homestay) even for opening weekend for SDC - YEAH! Econo will be ready to fully open within the next week or sooner. I will be juggling both at this time. Remember Cherie? Well she is my backup and will take great care of you as well if I'm not available. Look forward to hearing from you all soon! (If I rambled a bit sorry...up early and working hard + little sleep during storm.... ;)) Good News is that it could have been worse for all of Branson but I have noticed today the way people came together and made things happen under the pressure and shock....Thank you God for watching over us!

It’s great to hear that you have opened your doors to the tornado victims, response crews, and anyone else who might need a place to stay this week! Having the two hotels is a sign of a success, and it gives the customer two great locations to chose from for the same excellent service.

Talked to Paige again today, and she is staying very busy!
getting both motels opened up along with assisting other local businesses with tornado mess..
All in all everything on her side of town is in good shape and rolling along,

Yesterday & today were full of calls from guests who have stayed with us who reside all over the US/Canada wanting to know if we were okay. It has meant so much to me to have the support from everyone, I'm tired but still have energy to keep going! Sundune you have been so helpful and cannot thank you enough!!!!! It feels really good to help the locals that are not sure what is next, mainly now waiting for power....though some are in worse shape. Thank goodness we accept pets as 90% of our reservations now are with pets so it makes us feel like we are making it easier for them too! :D I am heart broken for the other businesses/hotels/motels/attractions that were effected. I drove around town today on errands and for the first time really saw with my own eyes that the areas that were hit.....were hit pretty good if not hard. Good news though there are crews everywhere working hard and the city is out checking and talking with everyone, getting things rolling well!

Happy that you didn't have tornado damage.Hope to see you in early June Bob needs to have total hip replacement and is trying to wait until Fall if he can. We still have a lot of snow up here in the North tundra of Wisconsin. Our gas is $3.92 for regular Take care...

We'll be in Branson for Spring Break (next week) and I'll try to talk my mom into staying with you guys! We usually stay at Best Western Inn & Conference Center and occasionally at Deer Run, but I kinda want something different for a change.

I don't know when I'll be able to make it back down. My stepdaughter is about a month away from having her first baby (just call me Grandpappy) Then when she is well enough I will be driving her and Baby Kady Grace back to Daddy in New Mexico, so it might be June or July before I get to get down there for a weekend

My wife and I made a short trip to Branson this weekend and stayed Friday night at Homestay Inn...got the sdcfans.com discount. Want to thank Paige, she made us feel quite welcome, I got to meet her as she checked us in Friday night. Good king bed room, everything clean, nice, quiet. Got a good night's rest, enjoyed the breakfast this (Saturday) morning. We checked out and hit the town. (See trip reviews thread.) I highly reccomend you stay at Homestay Inn/Eagles Lodge. It is right on Shepherd of the Hills Expressway and is easy access to all the fun Branson has to offer! Thanks again, Paige! Nice to have met you! :)

On Econo, running about a day behind. To be safe, we will be up and running Weds so let us know if you want to give them a try. Still will have rooms being finished for the next month but again will be nice rooms and what a difference from "before" & "after". Will have some ready by Weds.

I never eat donuts...but when we were there, I indulged. Maybe it was due to the fact that I never have them (maybe 1-2 per year total) but after my bowl of oatmeal, I needed something else and the cake donut with the maple-y icing was soo good! I have been wanting another since that morning, and I am afraid the one I get here will not be quite the same. Just so you know Paige!

Hey Paige! What in the heck happened this morning? We went to get coffee at 7 and the doors were locked. I waited and called at 7:30 and got the answering machine. We were finally able to get in and get coffee and breakfast about 7:40. ???
Other than that, we had another great stay!

No i am sure all is well. With the new motel open (Econo Lodge), I am sure Paige is working over there in the evenings and sleeping in the morning.. she has a good staff at homestay to handle the mornings.
I would guess the 1st of may or so, they will open the breakfast room at 7 all week long, But for now she is watching the working hours pretty close..

Oh biscuit I owe you a big apology! It is correct M-Thur the breakfast starts @ 8:00 and keep the lobby open till 10:00. Friday/Sat/Sun the breakfast is at 7:00, lobby open till 11:00 Fri/Sat. We need to remember to change the sign. I did hear your message and asked hubby Lance to help out since he gets up early anyway. This is temp as Sundune mentioned, depends on how busy we are. Again so sorry! :-[

We have waffles/cereal/oatmeal/coffee/juice/fruit/pastries (donuts/fritters)/toast for our breakfast. No sexy wrapped snacks yet.....only at Econo right now. :D

We are here at Homestay now. Everything is great!
I didn't know you could swim next door! Is this true anytime? The only thing we are missing is an indoor pool. We didn't bring our suits this time because we weren't planning on swimming. The fridge is nice, though. It is keeping my Dr. Pepper cold. :)

The Best Western down next to Old Branson.. It is located east of 65 on 76, on the north side of the road.. A couple of blocks east of MacDonalds.. ;D,. Yes you can swin there if you show have your Homestay Keycard..

It was a nice stay for a nice price. We will certainly keep Homestay in our list of places to stay. We do change things up depending on what we need (want) each time. Our room location was nice, too--no stairs!

My wife & I spent Saturday night at HomeStay Inn. I believe this was our 4th visit at the hotel. Cherie was working when we checked in, then saw her again at breakfast Sunday morning & when we checked out. She sure works hard!
Our room was impeccable as always, and we love the reasonable price for all that we get with the hotel.

It was a great turn out for the hotel this weekend (had 8 rooms of SDC fans alone)! Like a mini reunion....speaking of, brought this up before. We should pick a weekend that would be just SDC fans this year and we will have a great time, BBQ, etc. + a meet & greet party or something? Any ideas just chime in if you all think it would be of interest! SDC fans have been so supportive and is very appreciated!!!!!
Cherie does work hard and could not run this place without her! :D Will get the rest of crew up to speed soon! ;)

That's great to hear you want to give them a try! Really looking good over there and should be ready to start a normal continental breakfast in the next few days...yea! ;D I'm going to see if the restaurants that are close to the Econo will offer discounts as well like we do here. The paint arrived and looks like our goal is to start filling no later than Weds next week! We just have to keep the rain away for a few days so the paint dries correctly. ;) It is planned to be up by the holiday weekend. I am not allowed near the pool until it is full of water per corporate since last's years little episode....bugging my maintenance to get it up and going! ;)

Funny you should mention Sanddune! I went to good ole Sam's today and they no longer carry the tasty danish that we normally get, so guess what they had??? You guessed it...ALL WRAPPED SNACKS ONLY! Trams should be happy :D, we will now be putting out wrapped muffins and danish of different flavors along with the yummy mini-cini buns + donuts. See if you wish for it hard enough.....it does come true! ;D
Also on the pool (minor delay...don't ask), it should be up and ready by Friday (5/25) late afternoon. Sorry for delay and this time no one got hurt! Of course if I was allowed to be near it and help, well we'd be swimming by now...(ha ha!).

Personally I would think one room would be fine as long as your daughter and friend don't mind sharing a bed, or you could ask for a roll away. We stayed there last year and Paige managed to cram 6 of us in one room and we got along fine. I wouldn't consider any other option for a hotel when staying in Branson, you won't be disappointed.
Edit: think I read that wrong. It's you, your daughter, and your friend from high school, not hers. Sorry about that. I would check with Paige and see if has a rollaway available, you should still be fine in one room. Sorry Paige if I'm costing you an extra room rental! :D

Homestay vs Econo Lodge?
I've stayed in Homestay Inn the last three or four times I've been to Branson. I love it. But, would like to try something different. Has anyone stayed in the Econo Lodge? Is it as good as the Homestay?
I'm coming up this weekend, Thursday-Sunday. Will either be real busy?

Hey Paige....just to let you know that Bob is doing great....he walks with his cane outside if the terrain is uneven, had his 2 stitches taken out(1 on top of the cut and 1 on the bottom) glued in between. He drove after 1-1/2 weeks (couldn't keep him down)....all in all he's restless. Hope to get down to Branson in Sept. depends on finances.

Thinking of staying at the Econo Lodge next week. Our friend needs tix to SDC for two days. I guess the folks at the Econo Lodge can hook us up?
EDIT: I just called them. Rick was really nice.
They have make your own waffles. I'm sold. That's all I need.
However, they don't have deals on tix to SDC. That's no big deal for me and my family (we have season passes). But our friend has to find tix for a couple of days. Any ideas?
Those blasted BAF tix we have are only for 6 PM and after. That won't work.

Just as a note, we have the 2-day tickets here at HomeStay but they have made it more difficult to keep on hand this year. They used to deliver daily if needed and now we have to go to and pickup. Can only do twice a week so if we should not have enough on hand....call All Access Branson (417) 332-2121 or the website www.allaccessbranson.com and they will deliver to the hotel (either Econo or HomeStay). If you order before you come, they will bring to us so you have the day you check in. Same price either way! ;D

Checked into Econo Lodge last night~Rick was very nice, rooms ae great. My hubby has checked out the breakfast, and brought me back some coffee!! Girls jumped right in the pool yesterday evening - no complaints!! Loving' it ;D

When we made the reservations for our stay I had informed them that we would be there "after" midnight. The receptionist said that would be fine just ring the bell. We arrived at 12:48 a.m., we rang the bell at least 2 times and had to call the number on the door to get someone to answer. By the time we got inside it was 12:55 and the attendant had informed us that if we had been any later we would not have had a room (she was very rude). We were on the third floor which was okay except she had given us directions to enter on the wrong side of the building adding more distance to get to our room. When we walked in our room there was a large stain in the middle of the floor. In the bathroom there was stains all over the walls. When we went to bed we noticed blood stains on the comforter and the box springs was so rotted that it was very noticeable and nasty. The breakfast was nice for continental nice fresh waffles was a nice touch. The only complaint that I have is that with my young children standing beside me waiting for our waffles one of the employees was speaking to another employee using fowl language. After staying at the Homestay Inn for two days we decided to leave and try a different hotel, Southern Oaks in fact, for our third night stay in Branson.Which was a much friendlier and cleaner environment it was just two hotels down. If you are reading this do not stay at the Homestay Inn. It has dirty rooms and unprofessional employees.

I have been staying there for 3 summers and have the highest regard for the motel and management staff.. Likewise there has been severla others stay there for the last 2 seasons with no complaints.. \
i would have never worked as hard as I did to hook SDCFans up with Homestay, IF i had not been 100% sure of the rooms and service. So I offer my personal apology.

In reading your post, I do apologize that you did not enjoy your stay here on for the 2 nights you reserved on 07/20. I do remember you letting us know you would be here around midnight and at about 12:15, went ahead and settled down for the night hoping you would still arrive. I apologize it took me a few minutes to get down to the office to get you checked in, and if in anyway I offended you about giving away your room. I truly apologize, I was kidding/joking about almost giving your room away and we laughed some about this if I remember correctly. We have been wonderfully busy this year but have never given any rooms away for guests that are booked here no matter what time they check-in. We have not had any complaints from any other guests that have stayed in the same room you were in, that does not mean that our staff may had missed something. If notified of what you found once you checked in, we could have moved you to another room and/or resolved the issues immediately. I will review your post with my staff including the experience during breakfast. I want you to know that your feedback is important to us and not taken lightly. I hope you will consider this next time you visit Branson and give us another try.

12 pages of reviews can't all be incorrect. My dad has got to be the pickiest person in the world when it comes to finding a clean, comfortable hotel room at a decent price. I cannot count the number of hotels he has had us stay in in the last 28 years trying to find the best hotel room. He will not stay anywhere but Homestay in Branson now. We have never had a bad experience at Homestay and will continue to stay there each time we go to Branson.

At Homestay Inn we have always had clean rooms, friendly help and the FOUL language you speak of has been non-existent in our presence. The owner has been friendly, joking, laughing and respectful. I have recommended HOMESTAY INN for 2 years. Every single friend that has stayed continues to use Homestay Inn on a regular basis. ;D

We've had nothing but top notch service from Paige and her crew. Sorry to hear the earlier poster had a bad experience but I can assure you that is not the norm. Yes, we get a great rate for staying there, but I've always thought we're getting too good a deal for what they offer. As an earlier poster said, 13 pages of praise can't be wrong. ;D

MH, i was talking to Paige a couple fo days ago about winter closing...She expects to be closed by the 10th..
BUT we were talking about checking on how many people would be coming in and staying the last 2 weekends IF she OR econo lodge was open...

Sanddune is correct, the latest at this point we will be open in the 10th of Dec (could be the 3rd). As he mentioned if we can get some interest of rooms at either more than likely Econo than we may have a shot of staying open a little longer. So pipe in everyone!

It went fantastic! He has some skills there, told him while here due to Vet's Week that I'll have to put him to work. He can assist with the guests getting to their rooms and making sure their luggage is there along with assisting with keys if needed. Think we can keep him busy while here, hope he doesn't have any other plans! ;) Looking forward to seeing you all again! :D

It was a heavy drizzle in the morning than just was good and 100% humid without rain the rest of the day.
It was enjoyable. Didn't get to do the stunt show U think it was rained out, I know that PowderKeg didn't run at all, I hope they fix the problem they have with that its a real shame that it cant run at all when its damp. Seems like a real waste of a good ride.
Had a great time and had a Apple Dumpling, ( it wasn't real hot) but I was still happy with it.

Ok the meeting went well but, corporate has decided to close HomeStay on 12/03 (last day of checkout will be 12/04). The Econo will stay open until 12/10 (checkout will be 12/11). We were hoping to have more input on this, should more interest come we can look at possibly another week open at Econo. I am working with the PTB's about a special rate again this year at Best Western Landing View, I am working to get the rate down, etc. Thank you all for the input received so far! ;D

Parson, for some reason the hotel chain did not get tied into SDC for tickets this year.... something about the PTB sleeping on the job!!!! LOL.... anyway I think she can get tickets through All Access, but it is the same price as at the city itself.. 60.19 ea for adults....((I would assume that is the 2 of 1 price also.)).
I saw some talk on here about 25.00 tickets in the SDC times? maybe some one has an extra??
also keep in mind that if you go in after 3 you do get in the next day for free...that may or may not be any help..

Yep, I had to go to allacces, or one of those places. Can't remember which one. They had a 2 day ticket for one day price though.

Update: we can get the 2 days for the price of 1 at $60.19 (adult price). We went through All
Access this year as SDC no longer will deliver tickets to the places that sell them for them. You have to be able to pick them up at certain times on only two days a week so hard to determine needs at times. So, we decided to let All Access be our source and has been a wonderful deal. Have not let us down yet! ;D

Wouldn't that be cool? Actually the thread for Eagles Lodge/HomeStay last year was viewed more but season not over yet! ;D The wonderful news is we have had more reservations this year at this time than last and that is just awesome! Hey folks! We have been working on our Facebook page and excited about the things we will be able to do. We are working on not only posting events in town but also a calendar of events for Branson. We are hoping this will be informative to all and let you know what else might be going on in town while you're visiting SDC as well. Talked to Paige for a while over the weekend... (no surprise!!)).. anyway she made the comment that we (SDCFANS), have stayed 287 nites so far this year.. I dont think that counted last weekend, and with 3 more weeks we should be close or above 300 for the year!!
that is an increase over last year, not sure of final numbers, but i will find out or paige will tell us

As Sandune has posted, we are so close to hitting the 300 room mark with the SDC Fans!!! I told PTB that when we first started within a few seasons would hit 300 or more so don't let me down! Just 3 weeks left approx; of course for those of you who have stayed at the Econo, those numbers count too so either location. Look forward to seeing you all that are coming before the end of the season and will count on seeing those that aren't able to make it before we close next year! Thank you all again for you support this year!

How are gas prices up in Branson looking? Here in Little Rock, its $3.04 at many places.

dollar, i just check gas buddym, and all the phillips stations are 3.11 -3.19, conocos and caseys are about the same.. >:(
not sure which way you are soming in, but fuel is 3.04 on the south side of springfield..

They were supposed to come look at it, I have been away due to illness so not sure if they did. I am able to hook on anywhere in the hotel so not sure why that is.
