Title: BAF Tickets
Post by: prenger745 on September 02, 2011, 10:25:49 AM
I am taking my family of 4 to SDC on September 15th.  I have not bought tickets yet but am seeing some on ebay that are the BAF tickets.  The seller claims that you are technically supposed to be with a Season Pass Holder as you enter but also claims that they have never seen that to be the case.

Would I be taking a big gamble buying these tickets?  They are pretty much the only way that makes it affordable for us.

Thanks in advance!

Dan

I believe the consensus here is that we don't really like the idea of people selling them. A lot of times you can get those of us that can't use them to give them to you.

I've never heard of them turning anyone away, but the expense might be unneeded if we can help

Well I certainly don't expect something for nothing.  I am basically looking for 4 tickets to SDC on Thursday, September 15th.

I have seen BAF posted for sale on ebay. I would not personally buy any of them. Not quite in the spirit of what SDC is about to me.

If you are having a hard time and can save a little money ........

I was in Pigeon Forge last month and bought Dollywood and Wonder Works tickets at a garage sale, they were from employees of each, saved me a bundle and God bless those minimum wage employees that work in these places.  Selling the tickets the boss gave you for friends????....OMG!!...   Sounds like a cash bonus to me !!  Sometimes times are tight, do not judge.

I don't have a problem with it.

Save money on your tickets just buy some food to make up for it :)  And DONT take more than 1 ( ONE ) Piece of sample taffy while in the shop :)

I was just wondering has anyone tried to use the coupons in the SDC times for the tickets without a season pass or if you did use them did they ask for your SDC pass

I just wanted to come back and thank everyone that replied and helped.  We just got back from SDC and our kids had a BLAST.  The weather was a little cool but was no match for my sons.  My 9 year old rode the roller coasters 13 or 14 times.  Wildfire is his favorite with Powder Keg coming in a close second.  In fact, here is a video of one of his rides:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fmo-EmyhvDw

He is the boy in the blue jacket with shorts on.  I think his expression says it all!  (Don't worry, where it appears he is going to be sick he is just coughing (the ragweed is killing us)).

A big thanks to everyone on this forum!

I bought mine as soon as they went on sale so I would have thought I got all that was offered. My understanding was the later you buy the less you get.

If you buy early enough, and can deal with the date restrictions, you can always use the BAF for your family member(s). You'll get one set for each season pass, so if there's 4 of you, could get buy with only 2 season passes. It's a bit limiting, but would save you quite a bit of coin and possibly give you more opportunities to visit the park. I considered this last year when all my kids needed adult passes and writing a $500 check to SDC right before Christmas wasn't the easiest thing to do. However, they all agreed to accept that as a big part of their Christmas gifts, so it all worked out. Good luck.

You are right about the half/Half deal, not sure about the dates but it helps to make it possible to budget the SP.
I will tell you that those free passes are the #1 most motivating reason behind my buying the SP to start with.
It really comes in handy for a quick fun cheap outing with friends.

We usually give our BAF tickets to friends we know that are retired, they wouldn't get to go to SDC without them.

I read on another forum that there are $20 tickets good for up to two people, and they are good thru most of October.  I'm guessing they must have been printed in the latest newsletter.  Anyone know?  My last newsletter was delivered sometime during the summer.  Did I miss a Fall newsletter?  I seem to receive mine sporadically, and I would like the tickets to treat my sister and niece.

There was something like that in the last SDC Times. I think there was a coupon for $15 tickets, and another one for $20 tickets. Passholder needs to be present when purchasing.

The BAF coupons were in the summer version of the SDC Times.  Coupons for food and merchandise purchases were also in that issue.  The coupons were not all printed on the same page so it was possible to overlook some of them.

thats right biscuit,  but that was a special issue sent out to SP holders, not a regular issue that send out 2 or 3 times a year

I thought pass holders were the only ones who got the Times?

I've been a pass holder for years, but we can't ever seem to count on getting our newsletter - sometimes it shows up and other times...nada!  We did get a summer newsletter; hopefully, I have it stuck in a corner somewhere and can find it!  Thanks Biscuitcreek for the info!  :) :)
