Title: Old SDC Maps
Post by: Parson B Ready on November 26, 2010, 02:00:25 PM
Here are some pictures of a couple of Souvenir SDC Maps that I have, circa 1975 and 1983.  These pictures aren't the greatest.  I will try to make some scans of the maps and post them too.

Seems like somewhere I have one of those 1983 maps...That was around the first time I visited the park...That was the year they put in American Plunge wasn't it?

I have maps from 73, 77, 79, 81, 83 or 84, and 1990. Way too big to shoot a photo effectively to where you can see the small print on it with the simple snapshot digital camera I have.

I've got that one and one from 84 as well.   Being the huge souvenir maps, they had to be scanned square by square....huge undertaking

I have an old map of Worlds of Fun from the mid 1970's. It's funny to see how there was barely anything there compared to the layout and additions to it now. When you look at it, it gives you the thought of "Wow.....there really wasnt much to do, was there?!"  :D

Wow, it is amazing to see how much artistic work went into drawing each one of these maps before the days of mass media computers. :)
