My family is going Nov. 11-13 and maybe December 3-5. We'll be staying at Deer Run. This will be our 8th year to go to OTC. It is our favorite festival. Alrighty then.....who else is going?

Ooh ooh!! We're going! We'll be there at Deer Run, too! We'll be there Nov. 12-13. Maybe we'll see each other.

Hubby and I will be going Nov.18-21. barring any unforseen blizzards up here in Northern WI.

we will be there sunday after thanksgiving. will be in the area for 4 days. going to see show in branson also.. then return trip sunday-monday after christmas ;D

The ladies of the family will be in Branson on Dec 3, then the kids and dads are joining us on the 4th.
We will also be staying at Deer Run!

Our family will be there the day after Christmas until the last day the park is open this year. Wish we could get there sooner, but can't take our son out of school. Besides, it's become a Christmas tradition for us, the past few years.

I am hoping to go late December! ;D However, my work is planning on a business trip for me which really throws a wrench into my plans. :-\

Will be there December 4th with family, December 5th with the MSU Folklore Club. Can't wait!

We are going to OTC Nov. 27-29, the weekend after thanksgiving. My family has been going to SDC's Christmas festival for at least the past 20 years. VERY excited as always! ;D

hey jmc, I have the same problems. ::) these seasoned veterans start throwing out initials and about 1/2 the time i have to stop and thing about what is what.. ??? then when i figure it out, i just say "duh", that was pretty simple.

Has anyone tasted wassail? Is it good? I'll be going to OTC over Thanksgiving and am thinking about trying it. What does it taste like?

Wassil is great- it's a combination of orange juice and hot cider with some other spices thrown in. We're planning on going to OTC Dec 18-19. On an unrelated note, this being November 11th, I'd like to thank all on this board who are serving or who have served in the Military as well as all other veterans. Happy Veterans Day!

Sanddunerider...your rain dance has worked wonderfully so far. Beautiful weather today, hopefully more of the same tomorrow.

Yes, thanks for the good "rain karma" sanddunerider. I have a great past about 45 minutes ahead of me. Time to get in line 90 minutes before the 6:15 Christmas Carol, which let's out just in time for the 8pm parade.
Tip: Go online and read the Pathfinder before you head to the park. Only 2 parades and you should get in line at least 30 min before any of the shows start, especially Christmas Carol :)

StaceySue...we are staying on the bottom level right around the corner from the breakfast area (conference room). If you haven't seen me, you've probably seen my kids. I have 5--3 boys, 2 girls, 3 redheads, 2 blondes and a double stroller. :) I'm glad the weather has been fairly cooperative.

Don't feel alone Harp. I had a trip planned in May that got canceled due to work, and I didn't actually make it until October. However, you picked a great time go, and best of all I bet the week you go all of the 50th Anniversary merchandise will be half off, or better. ;D

We're heading to Branson Wednesday afternoon. Will be at SDC Thanksgiving night...can't wait. We'll go back again Friday or Saturday. Looks like we'll just miss the pleasant temperatures.

Was there last weekend before last for 4 days....had a fantastic time. Plan on going at least once a week if my work schedule allows.

I would love to go but the university is forcing to take 3 of the 4 furloughs and that dents pretty deep especially at Christmas time so all my extra money has to go for gifts for the girls.
So please take alot of pictures - I will look forward to seeing them.

i would think, and i am hoping for you, attendence will be a little lacking. :)
But as i understandstand thursday evening is a little busy, :D
And Friday is one of there busiest days of the year, as well as saturday :o

Honestly I am looking forward to the VIP seating at Dickens, buffet lunch and presentations the most.

I'm looking forward to what they have to show off about Half-Dollar Holler. It's not much to be excited about, but it would be interesting to see some real concept art.
I'm also interested to see if they'll drop some hints about the 2012 project, since that will probably be the big one and will be breaking ground next summer, I would think. Even just hearing that something big is on the way would be a treat.

Got into the 50s today. All coasters and TGS were open until around 4pm.
Once the sun went down it got cold quick.

More likely than not, our 2009 visit was our last, at least until I retire. :'(
For over 5 years now we've been planning a transfer to New Hampshire. It looks like it might finally happen this coming March/April/May. My retirement window is May 2013 (eligible) to May 2020 (mandatory).
We'll be taking regular trips back home to Arkansas, but I don't know if we'll be able to work in SDC trips during that time. I certainly hope so: I'd love to have a big family gathering with my mother, sister, niece, nephew, and any kiddos and spouses who can come. The whole family has great SDC memories, so it would be a great reunion.
