Title: Classic Comedy teams part II
Post by: Andymeets1880s on July 13, 2010, 03:00:15 PM
I believe everyone who wanted to vote on the first five has voted. The Stooges ran away with it getting six votes while Abbott & Costello, the Marx Bros. and Laurel & Hardy got one each. Shockingly, Martin and Lewis got nothing.

So here is round two: Choose from these four only!

1. Burns and Allen
2. Hope and Crosby
3. Smothers Brothers
4. Rowan and Martin

Have fun! I'll let this run until the end of the month.

They were all good acts...hard to say on this one...but I'll go with Smothers Bros. Cutting edge for their time. Got their show squashed out by the network, too.

Well sir...I did it again. I forgot to vote myself.

I vote for Rowan and Martin. I just couldnt get into Burns and Allen. I didnt much like the "Road" movies of Hope and Crosby. And about all I liked of the Smothers was "Mom liked you best." I laughed loud at some of Rowan and Martin's schtick.

All four very good!  Tough choice!

If Martin & Lewis would have been on this list I would have gave them a vote.  But their not, so I will pick Hope & Crosby.

Ohhhh pintrader! LOL! They WERE on the first list I put out. I will give you the M&L vote, but the Stooges still win outright!  ;)

Oh, so now I can vote for Burns and Allen!  ;D

She was the best comedienne in the business and he was a great straight man, not to mention a show business genius whose career continued for decades.
