Located at Grand Country Inn on Hwy 76 in Branson, Is it the World's largest banjo, or the largest sculpture that looks like a banjo?

That's like saying "Maxie is the world's largest goose - but is she a 'real goose' or a 'statue'"

I've been here: http://www.crossministries.net/

It used to be advertised as the largest cross in the Northern (or Western, can't remember) Hemisphere, but there's another cross now in Illinois that's bigger.

Here's an interesting piece about the giant banjo:

How many of those "World's Largest Ball of Twine"s are there?  I know Ripley's has one also at one of their locations, and I think I've seen one other.

I visited the "World's largest rocking chair" 42ft 1in tall on the same trip-yes, i am a dork, but after searching , it seems everywhere claims the argest rocker! There is a largest cedar rocker, the largest walnut rocker complete with caned seat and backrest (My personal favorite), but Missouri's claim was made of steel and 2x4s. I think they need some more exacting standards as to what constitutes the largest of something....I am going to be in the Guinness book someday, and if it is for largest things, It will for ddarn sure be made with the same materials, and same process just on a huge scale.

The one in Vinita Oklahoma was once the largest by square footage.  I believe the Mickey-D's in Orlando acutally is larger now.  It is supposed to have a GIANT play land that adds to their square footage.

One was built in Moscow that was supposed to be larger, but the "Glass House" in Vinita still held the record by some 50 square feet.

Every time we go to SDC the kids beg to stop there.  It is pretty neat to watch the cars drive under you I must say....

That McDonald's spanning I-44, was originally a truck stop/diner/gift shop.  I remember getting turned around in there and trying to go back out the wrong leg when I was much younger.  It was much nicer back in the day.

^If you've ever been on the turnpike in Chicago, there are many of these (over the road) stops that have many different fast food joints in them.  I still haven't figured out why more states haven't built these especially out in the middle of nowhere on their interstates due to a lack of services in their state
