Who is going to the City the weekend? We will be there April 2 all day and possibly a little while on Saturday.
Leaving as soon as I can get out of work today then staying at Deer Run tonight.
SO EXCITED!!!!!
^Have fun. I'll think of you while I'm in Vegas ;D
Ah, you two braggers!
I'm just teasing. ;) Unfortunately my next Silver Dollar City trip is not until this May. However, it should be a nice weekend, and I hope you have a "blast in the wilderness!"
Swoosh-
I love Vegas! We used to go quite a bit but I haven't been in over two years.
Your first trip to Sin City?

My sister's going to Vegas this weekend. If you see her, say "hi" for me--lol.
I'm making plans to be there May 1st, anniversary day. Would be interested in meeting with any one from sdcfans that want to talk to a former diving bell guy, or about the old days on the park. My wife and I will be attending the employee reunion that afternoon at Reunion Hall.
I will be there April 30th - May 2nd. I do not want to miss a bit of the celebration. I hope I run in to you Junior...
I will be there too April 30th - May 2nd. Cannot wait!!!
I am there Thursdays, Saturdays & Sundays!
Arriving early on the 29th...want to make sure I get a good place in line for Friday.
I will be at SDC on Saturday!! Two weekends in a row. Pretty exciting!
I'll be working every day the park is open, come see me!
Trying to get there May 1st but everyone tries to put sometihing else up for me to do, here Hoping I win.

It would have been. Things came up (family) so we had to postpone our trip for now while we take care of some things. On the "good side" I got to go to Six Flags' opening weekend, but yeah, it's not Vegas by any means. :-\
^Swoosh- Waiting for Vegas just means that there will be more to do when you get there. ;)
So...What are the attendance estimates for the Anniversary Weekend? We will be there but it is starting to scare me. Pushing a double stroller through a world record crowd is not my idea of a good time.
That is a thought...what kind of crowd is expected anniversary weekend? My wife is tolerant of us going that weekend because she knows it means so much to me. She's not big on walking around in heat all day, or big crowds. Maybe if I had some info on projection for the weekend I could prep her. If I can get her mentally prepared for the day, she is less likely to whine and moan...cause it's a big deal to me to get to visit the park and visit with old friends at the employee reunion.
My unscientific prediction is that if you enjoy riding the thrill rides, then the anniversary weekend is the worst possible time to go. However, if you want to go just for the experience, and celebration then go for it! You will be a part of Silver Dollar City history. :)
I've decided that I'm gonna focus on video/photos and celebration shows on May 1st and skip the whole riding rides thing ('cept if I've got friends with me who wanna ride together).
Joy
What is the single day attendance record for SDC? Becuase I'm making a prediction that it will be shattered on May 1.

^Wow. Have you heard how many people SDC is expecting Steam?

I was there this day and it was CRAZY busy! If we can handle it, bring it on!
That didn't happen to be on a mid-December Saturday a handful of years ago? 'Cause I seem to recall when I went with my sis and her (now-ex) boyfriend, at the latter part of the day we heard whispers that the park was at capacity and they would have to start turning people away because of fire regulations...
Okay thank you for the trivia information about the highest attendance record, but please don't keep us in the dark! :D
What day was it, and what made it so special?
I did work a day in 79 that capacity exceeded 20,000. It was a crazy day, I was glad when it was over.

I was there as a guest, and it was more than crazy. We parked further away than ever before, and the streets of the city were ALL elbow to elbow. Our bus driver had driven to parking lots for the entire day. And yes it was the Christmas season, 2008.
