Is anyone else surprised that the new map is not up on the website? Neither is the new "Times".
Just thought with 10 days to go that the website would have as many preparations going on as the park.
How often does the times come out? I'm ready for one with coupons in it!
The march times is posted on the website. http://hfeimages.aristotle.net/General/March%20Season%20Pass%20Newsletter.pdf (http://hfeimages.aristotle.net/General/March%20Season%20Pass%20Newsletter.pdf)
I thought that was the one I got around the first of the year.
Ready to see something new to get me more excited...and we also love the coupons.
I talked to Customer Service at SDC. They said then March issue was only mailed to non-season pass holders to try to get them to purchase a season pass. I never got the one from the end of the year.
It is a week from the season opening and still the Christmas Map. I really wish they would get the new one out.

If you go to the park opening day, how about posting a pathfinder map or a big poster sized map bought from a store on sdcfans? It's WONDERFUL to share!
Got an email back from SDC. All they couls say about the new map was that their artista were dinishing it up. She said it was changed a lot due to adding and taking away things that it has taken longer than expected. I should have responded that they could just use Swoosh's.....

LOL. You leave me out of it. I don't need Lisa, Martha and Crystal mad at me. :P
FINALLY...The new map is on the SDC website. (I've been checking every day!) You'll find it at:

Gee, I've checked 4 x's today, I step away to watch a movie, and bam! :D
Yep, and the new Pathfinder is up as well, with a full page dedicated to the crafts. "As the true Home Of American Craftsmanship...where shopping is an adventure, The City is proud to unveil its masters' collection in honor of 50 years of keeping long-forgotten crafts alive and well. Eight signature pieces have emerged from the hands of our master craftsmen to become keepsake treasures that will last a lifetime and be passed down through generations." Pretty cool! :D

I was pleased to see that they will be selling DVD's of the Beverly Hillbillies espisodes in the Hospitality House! (In the SDC Times/Pathfinder link above) Now if we can convince management to put out on DVD the Burl Ives' America program, or the Kenny Rogers Special, or the videos done on park in the late 80s and into the 80s.
Excellent find on both the map, and the Pathfinder! Hey did anyone else notice on the new map the missing slides from the Waterboggan? Plus, they have removed the labels for both the Waterboggan, and Splash Harbor. I was surprised to see just how accurate the new map is!
With all of this new excitement it makes me want to run down the street like a Bald Knobber on the loose! Okay maybe not, but this is going to be a great year. :D
The Pathfinder also says "Huck's Hidden Treasure Sluce" will be a feature adjacent to RiverBlast. You can "pan" for semi-precious stones. Reminds me of the old "Panning for Silver" children's activity in the 1977 season adjacent to Rube Dugan's Diving Bell. Life is like a circle. If it worked once, maybe we can tweak it and do it again! Hey, anything to attract a crowd. ;)
They've also brought back the Street Troupe!
So far they're certainly earning points with me and the season doesn't even start til tomorrow! Can't wait til Friday!
^The Street Troupe performed last year too, but it was not on a set time in the Path Finder
Okay, I *thought* I saw them in passing last year, but there were no listings in Pathfinder. I wonder, though, if the fact that this new PF emphasizes a "return" means they'll be performing what they did in the 60s...?
My 7 year old (who visited SDC for the first time last summer) was shoulder-surfing while I was reading, and said, "Oh, HEY!, cool! Is that a map of Silver Dollar City?"
And then we had to go over every section of the park and what rides we'd been on, and what he had been too small for. ;D
Now I've been entreated to find more photos and videos for the lad. Such is life as a middle-aged dad. :D
