Title: Celebration City Garage Sale Photos
Post by: Junior on January 16, 2010, 11:31:25 PM
I've added ten photos of Celebration City to my Flickr account, all photos were taken on May 16, 2009, the day a "Garage Sale" was held to sell off at huge discounts remaining Celebration City T-Shirts, ball caps, stuffed animals from the game booths, coffee mugs, glassware, post cards, and other novelty items sold in the gift shops. You can see the event was not very well attended. Few people were there in mid-afternoon when my wife and I got there. Folding tables were set up in front of shops, shop doors were open and employees peddled goods to all who were interested. At this point, the park had only been closed over winter, and everything was still intact except for a few rides that were gone or in storage. These Celebration City photos join others on my photo stream including photos of 1) diving bell   2) Hee Haw Theater, Branson  3) Jim Owens Float Trip.

Thanks for the photos Junior.

In related news, nothing has been decided yet for the property, but they have looked at retail, lodging, and entertainment options including an aquarium. http://www.bransondailynews.com/story.php?storyID=14502

They are still committed to bringing back a family attraction though, and I'm sure they don't want to wait forever, so something will happen within the next couple of years I'm sure.

I've added the 2008 brochure from Celebration City (It's final season) to my Flickr account. Take one last look at a nice little park that just did not make it. New that year was Roaring Falls, and the Extreme Parrots show. Enjoy!
