Title: Holiday World/Splashin Safari New in 2010
Post by: U Smell Smoke on August 15, 2009, 04:34:53 PM
Holiday World and Splashin Safari have announced their new waterpark ride for 2010.  It's called Wildebeest and it's billed as the world's longest water coaster. It's 1/3 mile long and the ride will last two and a half minutes. The interesting thing about the ride is that it will use linear induction motors to propel the rafts and riders will go up a conveyor lift hill to a four story drop at a 45 degree angle. The ride will feature seven more hills, a helix, and three tunnels, two of which are underground. The illlustration on their website seems to indicate it's going to be a fun ride. I know they use linear induction for roller coasters but I've never heard of it being used in a water ride. Splashin Safari is a great waterpark that gets better every year. The Koch family does a great job improving their park.
