Looks like SDC's Mom's Blog has gotten rid of the old Q&A section and is jumping into a new forum system. http://www.silverdollarcityblog.com/city-moms-forum/index.php
I guess they've taken note. ;D
They're brand new, so there's not a lot of action there yet. We could help give them a jump start.
I have often wondered what makes them "experts".
I just glanced at it. Are they limiting the topics? How strict will they be with critical analysis and suggestions?
It looks like they're pretty open with that forum. I read through the terms of use, and nothing really jumped out at me. Not only will moderators offer suggestions and analysis, but so will other users.
Well, I know that one of the lead moms is a former Saloon girl, as mentioned on the intro vid.
Personally, I probably won't spend any time there. I'm not a mom, and despite being a new aunt, I feel like I won't get anything out of spending time there. It seems like it's more for first time and infrequent visitors who need to know specific things.
Joy
Yeah, it's still a mom-oriented site, but they are trying out a lot of web 2.0 features, which is cool to see. It's a lot better than they old Q&A system, which was slow and didn't provide instant feedback. This way they can sit back and let other members answer a lot of the easier questions I'm sure they're bombarded with.
Maybe this will start a trend for them?
I will stick with the best SDCfans ::)
Try posting anything critical. I can't imagine a conversation will be allowed to stray too much off of their own topics.
Looks like I may have pointed it out a bit too soon - they're still working through the details of getting the new features going. Might be a little while before we can actually use them.
As far as the conversations go there though, I'm sure it'll be a different crowd and a different personality running things, but SDC's marketing people have always been great about working with fan dialog. They've been really great to us.
