Title: Error message for the board
Post by: biscuitcreek on March 01, 2026, 11:09:00 AM
This is the first time in several days that I have been able to get the board to come up. I have been getting an error message about the site exceeding the bandwidth. Has anyone else had this issue?

Something odd has been going on where we are getting massive bandwidth usage every month now. Like 10x what we would commonly see in a month a couple years ago. We are using more bandwidth per month now than back in the 2010's when this site was hopping. I am assuming it is AI/bot traffic. Not really sure how to handle it yet.

Once again, thank you for your tireless work on this site.   I've been in withdrawal the past week.

that sucks. maybe force a captcha every time the site is opened? its inconvienent but should ward off bot traffic. i know other websites have been warding off ai scrapers so its possible.

You may look into adding the free tier of Cloudflare to the site. That would cache some files there so it isn't hitting the actual hosting server each time and it also has some bot protection.

Glad it's working again.
