Can anyone enlighten us as to why there is a Lot, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7...and JD? What is the significance of Parking Lot JD?
Pretty sure it is reference to a old business on Indian point called John the Diver sho scuba dived in the lake.
I remember John the Diver being out there. I've not actually gone to look for JD, but it would be interesting to know why they commemorate a former business rather than make it a part of the numbering system.
I've heard JD meant Just Dirt meaning it was an unpaved lot.

I am pretty sure they rented this lot from John The Diver for overflow. They might own it now though.

I remember always hearing this too. It was always a fun little joke the Tram Drivers would make.
However the other theory might have been valid in the past and they simply "rethemed" it.
It fit in better back when the lots were A, B, C, D, E, etc. Funny thing is Dollywood still uses that format.
We always called it "just don't". As in just don't park us. We'll come back another day.
It is not even listed on the parking map. https://parkingaccess.com/blog/silver-dollar-city-parking#Silver_Dollar_City_Parking
