I saw the initial dirt work going on, but didnt know what it was going to be..
Here are details..
I am pretty sure this will be next to the Hughes theatre area...
https://www.ozarksfirst.com/news/branson-getting-new-skyscraper-thrill-ride-1/1704697433
This is at Track 3 which is over by Tanger - the home of Wild Woody. It will be in the infield of the Rookie Track which is technically at Kidz Kountry, the kiddie park the also own next door (across parking lot)
I saw them taking out one of the boat/raft/tube rides, I just forgit where it was on the strip..
I see by the sign in the video it is indeed at the wild woody location..
I should be there in a couple of weeks, try to get some pictures..
Thanks for doing that. I'm not sure when I'll make it back down there. Probably not until March
I would still love to see a Star Flyer in town and wish the Track would get a GG woodie.
Really looking forward to this. Had the chance to ride one a few years back on the west coast and it was a ton of fun. I think it'll be a great addition to the strip. and love that it's not something that's already there but will be unique.

All of this except it being GG. Way too expensive to maintain since they literally tear themselves apart if there is any intensity whatsoever to the layout. White Lightning af FSO is a GCI and a much better example of a small park woodie
This is like the Fun Spot Vomitron in Kissimmee, FL.
Here are some pics.
I see now my confusion on location of the new ride...
you will see my 1st 7 pics, they are putting in new pool at The Tracks next to Hughes brothers. That is the dirtwork I saw during NYE weekend.
The next 7 pics are of actual worksite for the new attraction.. not much to see, I am guessing the tarp is covering the massive concrete base,,, I would also quess they will remove old track now, backfil untill lot is level, our new should and walking area around the base, and Theyr you go!! New ride!!, there are only a couple of pieces on site, waiting on the rest of it.. This thing is going to big huge...
The last 11 pics are of the New Wonderworks going in next to Baldknobbers,, Not must to see, looks like good progress on the elevator (i would guess)..
I will be back in 30 days, try to get updated pics then..
Here is the link, you will need to be on FB to use.

On a FB Live they said that the track is staying and that there will be a new bridge over it to get to the new ride.

That would be an odd way to do that, not much of an area to stand in line unless on the bridge..
That would explain why the old track has not been damaged or torn up in any way, yet..
The way that I understood it, the bridge is only used to enter and exit the ride. The waiting area would be outside of the track. Probably better viewing to be a little bit back and not standing right under it while waiting in line.

I see. As I remember it is not a very big area, so that will be interesting. Hopefully they dont get backed up too far..
Think of how they do the SkyCoaster. The queue is outside of the ride envelope. They walk the riders to the load area from that queue area. Same train of thought here.
Oh and Sand can we borrow the photos for MiG? Please and thank you

@ Swoosh. Of course you can, thanks for asking.. :)
Update from today (2/24) on Skyscraper

(lots of parts now onsite)
Update on the new (smaller) bumper boats pool at Track 4

Swoosh, that about the way it looked the last time I was in town, when my camera messed up. Both locations looked to me like they had quit for "winter".
Of course the concrete need to "cure" on the Skyscraper, but I am sure that is done by now.. I am surprised there are not more pieces there yet for assembly. Must be waiting on another truck load or two...
Good pics!
It should be sunny, warm and dry for the next 3 days, so maybe work will progress.
Saw this link on the New Skyscraper... almost all assembled..
https://www.ozarksfirst.com/news/local-news/construction-begins-on-branson-skyscraper/1996985058
Read this morning on FB, the skyscraper was all lit up last night in Bright Red Lights..
Sorry no pics!! ???.
I asked my buddy to try to get me pics tonight... :D
