They were definitely down last weekend. We drove by last Friday and I noted to my car load of shoppers that the signs were gone and wondered if it meant something. Guess so. :)

I guess so.. I doubt that it sells. If it doesnt then there will be 2 large theatres sitting vacant on 76. :(
Why don't you think this will not sell? I have never been in myself

Not necessarily from a court house sale. oftentimes those will go just for back taxes owed, which may not be much, especially in comparison to the value of the property. But I haven't seen it said what is owed so don't know.
Guess we will find out next week. :D
It sold for $3.2 million to a group that runs some theaters in Pigeon Forge. They may rent the theater short term while they figure out their long term plans and deal with the fallout from the TN fires.

This will be a good thing for the theatre...
This is a good win for Branson. Great to have another major player arrive on the scene. Wish someone like this could swoop in and save the Mansion.

What's going with the Mansion? Thought it had really been busy this year since the Oak Ridge Boys Theater was torn down.
They did have a busy year in 2016, but the "raiders on the country vault" is moving to Starlite. Even with The boys, the theatre will be dark most of the year, If they done pick up a "everyday" show.
There will no doubt be a couple of encore shows... Kenny Rogers was there this year.
I checked the mansion website, no updates for 2017.
My bad, I meant Grand Palace. Though like sanddune said, the Mansion is almost in the same boat in needing a savior.
No news about the Grand Palace either, just lots of articles from two years ago about how the new owners were such a good fit and so optimistic. I'm expecting that one to turn into a real estate deal any year now.
What is the size difference between The Mansion and Andy Williams?

MH, pretty sure Williams is 2500, Mansion is 3000, RFD is 2200

I would guess 500 people makes a big difference in ticket sales. I hope we keep one of the large venues around so we can still get special one nighter shows.

I was in The Mansion twice this year, it is in near perfect condition, lots of parking and very well laid out on the inside,
Since the ORB are there now, I see more big name acts coming to town, doing one or two night shows.

I was very pleased with the mansion as well, I would not hesitate to see another show there. Andy Williams is nice but getting seated in that venue is a chore and frustrating. Very slow process. They really need to work on the seating process, attendees were frustrated during the Loretta Lynn show.
