Meh,
Still waiting for someone with the proper means to build a Snowflex slope with an attached lodge and a companion recurculating Whitewater course with mountain biking trails and rock climbing.

Swoosh I am with you on this one but there really needs to be a big hill to give you a good ride.
I have been on the ones in Gatlinburg, it was a good time.
There are 4 total in the PF/G'burg area now.
Lots of good hills in the Branson area for Mountain Coasters - shoot one could even go where the "Water Slide" was near Branson Mall
I've always wanted to ride a mountain coaster! This sounds awesome!
I'm so super excited about all the new developments in Branson lately. Looks like they're finally taking steps to really appeal to the younger generations! Stuff like this and that Fritz's place should really bring in the college crowd from Springfield and other areas.
Will be interesting to watch this project start, then proceed through the next year or 2.. IF indeed it makes it that far.
Hopefully this will all work out and get completed. Anything to improve the existing menu of attractions in Branson is good. Especially if you do not like the typical variety show offerings. A mountain coaster would be a awesome addition.
So where is this property? Is this the hill behind Celebration city?
Or is that 265?
This is something I'm really excited for. We have a lot of ziplines, but not all of them are that good, and these sound like they'll be well done. The alpine coaster is something we've all been saying that Branson needs for a long time.
I haven't looked at the site or plans yet, but I imagine some of the snow concepts could be added on as well if the other things do well.

MH,, should be south on 165.... that would south of the Titianic, headed towards the dam... I cant tell by the picture for sure where... But would be down in the Danna's BBQ area.......
Wow, this sounds like another great addition to Branson. Will definitely appeal to the younger crowds which is what desperately needs to happen.
The land is to the right of Sklyline Baptist Church.
Isn't it near or on the old safari/zoo property?

Recorded. Congrats you found a valid Easter Egg
Drove by this weekend, have several pieces of track in place, BUT several pieces still missing, the main building is coming along nicely, BUT appears to be a looong way from being done.
July? I don think so.
Saw on their Facebook page that they're hoping to be open by the end of July. Drive past their most days heading to work so I can see the progress. Thinking they're being a tad optimistic with that time frame. Hope they're not rushing and something bad happens.
According to the Springfield News-Leader the coaster is scheduled to have its grand opening on August 5. Owners say it could be up and running before then.
I posted a picture of people riding it, last Thursday, on fb, so, YES, it is finished. They're just wrapping up all the little things~
Apparently this opened today. They had previously pushed back the official opening due to some issues with permitting, but sounds like they wrapped it up early.
Wish they could have been open a few months earlier, but this will be nice. I'll see if I can head down there sometime soon to check it out myself.
Finally was able to make it out to The Runaway. It's a lot of fun. Might be a little sticker shock for those who have never ridden one before ($15.00 + tax) but that's pretty standard for mountain coasters (some are more).
I did find it odd that you had to sign a waiver to ride. The other five mountain coasters that I have ridden did not make you do that - not sure if this is a Missouri thing or what. I think it slows the process down considerably as EVERY rider has to sign one. I also think it might be a deterrent for some riders.
Anyway, here's my PTR from the place

How does it compare to others Swoosh?
Do you know the height/weight/age restrictions?
300lb weight limit. I'm not sure on height.
I'd rank the ones I've ridden as follows:
1. The Coaster at Goats on the Roof
2. Smokey Mountain Alpine Coaster
3. The Runaway Mountain Coaster
4. Timber Twister at Spirit Mountain, MN
5. Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster
6. Snow Mountain Coaster at Ober Gatlinburg
They made the cover picture for screamscape today on facebook as well as some pretty good POV videos. can't wait to ride
My daughter and I rode this four times this last week and had a blast. Yes it was a little expensive but we really enjoyed the ride. We both went full throttle on all rides. The first ride I almost pulled back on the brake on the second helix, but maintained full speed all the way through. Some observations:
1. Make sure to profile the people that are in line before you.......if there are little kids, or someone you might not think will go full throttle, ask the attendant to hold you back before releasing you so you have plenty of space before the cart in front of you.
2. They will slow the lift down to clear the track if there are slow riders....hopefully though you're not released before they identify the slow riders.
3. don't slow down too early......fly through the last bridge section and only slow if there is a cart in front of you. There are magnetic brakes at the end that will stop you....no need to stop too early.
